Title: Neil Redfearn
Post by: scawsby steve on August 20, 2023, 06:10:00 pm
Out on my usual walk round Cussy Park this afternoon, I bumped into him walking his dogs. We had a good chat about football.

He obviously still loves the Rovers, and is concerned as the rest of us about our current position.

Captain Fantastic , inspirational and only second to Ronnie Glavin in the greatest player I've seen represent my club .

When he scored THAT header and our first ever goal in the top flight on the opening day of the season at Oakwell to give us the lead against West Ham it still gives me goosebumps .

A true legend .

We signed Neil from Oldham Athletic in 1991 for £100k and he'd played a huge part in their automatic promotion to the old First Division the season before .

That wouldn't happen today , we simply wouldn't be in the conversation .

Today he would have signed for Leeds , Leicester or Southampton for £10m or something like that .
