Excellent win today - think that gives home advantage in the final
-
-
Good news.
-
Game in 2 weeks at the eco power really need as many people down as possible the team deserve it
-
Hope they get a good turn out for the final, they deserve it.
-
Need to promote the hell out of this game. They really need to get promoted this season
-
I’m planning on going years since I’ve watched RL
-
Can you summarise how the Dons are doing and what this game means?
I haven’t been for many years and don’t follow RL.
-
I’ll try but am just an outside observer
They started really well and looked on course for being contenders for the one automatic promotion spot, they then had a horrendous spell losing a few games that they should have won.
Ended up finishing third and into the play offs (how they work are beyond me), beat Oldham and then Hunslet yesterday that gives them home advantage in the final. They play the winner of Oldham v Hunslet
Dewsbury were champions btw

play offs work 2nd (hunslet)get a bye week then it plays 3rd (donny)plays 4th (Oldham) winner plays hunslet and loser plays the winner of 5th v 6th which was obviously Oldham and crusaders who won the 5th and 6th showdown, winner of that which was crusaders having beaten Oldham away yesterday now go on to play at hunslet next week with the winner then playing the dons.in reality teams finishing 2nd 3rd and 4th get 2 bites at getting through to the final if they lose their 1st game in the playoff

At least they make it nice and simple! Well done Dons, fingers crossed for the final.
-
Will it be the final final or the best of three?
-
Thanks for the clarification!
Are they currently in the 3rd tier (of 3)?
I went to the Batley away game that sent them up to the top division back in 93 or 94. I don’t imagine the Dons are anywhere near that point yet.
-
Are there any highlights any where, ive looked on youtube and cant find any.

It's a one off game, winner goes up

That's correct, we are currently in the third tier. The division above is full of big names of Rugby League though, Featherstone, Bradford, York, Batley, Halifax Toulouse etc
-
I quite fancy an away trip to Toulouse.

I think it was tongue in cheek. Because of all the nonsense of the complicated play-off system.
-
It's not a straight forward pyramid system but it makes sense, the higher up the table a team finished the better chance they have, which seems fair. The easiest way to think of it is, each week of the play offs the lowest place loser goes out.

It was indeed SS. All in the best of taste of course.
