Title: Seaman
Post by: sedwardsdrfc on October 20, 2023, 10:32:00 pm
Is there an option to recall Charlie Seaman? Just thinking about our injury list mounting, as usual, and that we now play wingbacks he might come in handy.

Was always decent on the ball and can play either side so in a team playing well he could offer more than cover…

I would rather play some of the young lads we had on the bench tonight, he’s had plenty of chances and only played well about 3 times.

Draytonian, he never played in a side that was playing well when he was here, in fact the mid field, and  for the last part of last season the manager were bloody awful

He’s not up to the standard we need, even with the injuries we have he would have only had made the bench verses Tranmere. He’s made 34 appearances for us how many of those will be for a full match ,maybe a third

I don’t personally want to see Charlie Seaman play for us again.

We’re onto something here, bringing players back in who aren’t good enough is not the answer and won’t be in Grants thoughts.

Seaman? No thanks. We are moving well away from that sort of quality.

Not played for over two months now. Wonder if Hartlepool might try and send him back in January.

It proves where we have been going wrong with signings and contract renewals in the past , not many have renewed and kicked on and performed

Has he been injured or just not being aelected?

Thwy were raving about him at the start. Shoild of got them to sign him permanent then. No chance he gets in front of sterry, or nixon this season

Only missed one of their first 17 games, with a couple of sub appearances in there after a return from injury, until being injured again on 24th October - and not played since.

No idea why we are discussing Seaman. He is the past and part of our disastrous recruitment in recent years.

Yes he always gave 100% but no where near good enough.
Sterry and Nixon both far better players.

Personally I don’t think there is anything to discuss. Just my opinion of course.

The guy in my opinion needed to be employed wide right,  but further forward. He would actually have been a good option playing right wing back, with all the injuries we’ve had.

His loan with Hartlepool United is officially at an end and he is now back with Rovers. Loan terminated by mutual consent.

It’s always a shame when Seamen is released prematurely

Do you think Seaman can fill our hole at the back ?

Crikey didn’t realise he was still on our books. Seaman is clearly part of our DNA.

What's the betting we try him at centre half before the end of the season.

After relegation last season, Hartlepool are (as it stands) only 4 points off relegation in the National League. A few clubs below them have games in hand as well.

The way a club can just keep declining is scary right?

I have family in Hartlepool and lived there myself for a brief stint so I keep an eye on the monkey hangers.

They have toyed with relegation for probably 10yrs before they went down. Once you go down and everyone jumps and income drops its hard to stop the rot, look at Scunny.

There is only 2 teams that drop out this league which has saved many efl teams for more than one season.

I dread to think if we dropped into conference.

Stick with GMc and back him, it won't happen.

My poolie mate was impressed when CS first went there, however his form declined then he was injured. They’ve also had a change of management again.
Think Charlie is going to have to take a big step backwards and try and rebuild any career he may have. Bit of an enigma really, right from the off it was a strange signing

Tongue in cheek remark another young player that has been overrated by some supporters he was never a right back ok going forward but I believe he will be leaving again in January

He had a falling out with Askey after he came back from injury as did a couple of other players, that’s why he didn’t play after returning.
