Let's make every effort to sell out the allocation and give GM 90 minutes of loud support and give Darragh McAnthony some shit on his behalf.
I for one can't wait for this, another new ground for me and my lad to tick off which will be four new ones this season so far.
Edited the title, see if we can have a bit of festive fun and fill the away end in a sea of red and white.
Spread the word.

I'll be going - ideal for me from Tring
-
Is it 100% confirmed for Sat 2nd December 15:00?
-
Yes looks like it
-
Please make it Sunday and then I can go.
Will be back from hols.

Even if it's Saturday you could still make it, Camps. It's not that far from Reighton Gap. LOL.

Last time I went to a cup tie at Peterborough was early 80s. They were in the division below us and we got beat 5-2. They had a bloke called Micky Gynn and he tore us apart. Played in the Cup Final for Coventry a few years later.
-
My last visit to London Road was the mid sixties 3-3 draw.
My brother came too and it was the first away game I had gone to without an adult.
Well I thought it was at the time but I found out later that my dads mates from the pit were keeping an eye on us.
-
Family over from Germany so went to see the Sadlier and Whiteman show.
What a performance that was.

Yes, Rich. Ian Snodin put us 1-0 up that day, then it all went to sh*t.
-
I Guarantee McCann will have them fired up for this one after Posh Chairmans swipe at McCann on Twitter.

3-0. Fantastic performance.

I bet McAnothony's doubling the win bonus for this one to avoid a rather large slap in the kisser.

Train strikes planned for 2 December.
-
It's getting to the point where I don't bother with any public transport. Buses through the village went from 2 an hour to 1 every 2 hours and trains are so unreliable you can't plan anything. Crap really.
-
First time I went was when my father was referee and the centre forward was Terry Bly scorer of 54 goals their first year in the league 1960-61 season.
Dad asked him to give me a few tips on shooting and he was good enough to answer " when you see the goalkeeper aim at him, you will miss him mostly" and not bad information really and gave dad and the other players a giggle, but he explained the thoughts behind it later to a confused youngster.

That’s a good rallying cry Nudga, you’ve got me fired up.
I wasn’t going to go but you’re right, let’s go there in numbers and support Super Grant McCann!
Come on Rovers!

What about santa hats for the occasion?
I can remember a sea of red and white santa hats away at scunny in the mid 90s which looked ace.
-
Away end holds around 1,800, what's the chances of selling that allocation out?
-
Shame the trains are off. 50mins from Retford is handy for me.

Dug out my old Santa hat after reading this but it doesn’t fit, can’t get it on my head.
Does your head keep growing after you’re 60?
Anyway, I’ll get another.
Come on you Santas!

Agreed.
Santa hats, red and white scarves, home shirts, flags, red and white f*****g balloons.
Let’s do this.
And of course Rovers will play in their black away strip …..
-
It’s a decent ground. They’ve stopped giving us the stand behind the goal in recent years but it’s still a proper stadium and only 10 mins walk from centre. Fairly anonymous place but one of the better grounds.

Taken off of their forum, I’m guessing our prices will be the bold section I’ve highlighted.

Also, using a hairdryer to remove Tomlin from last season's home shirt as i opted to buy the hooped blue shirt this season.
I'll leave 23 on the home shirt and add Senior :s

Be careful on the steps in the stands, there were more people tripping over last time we went
-
Brings back memories of Scunny away, it could have been Oslo and his mate selling bin bags full outside, made a bomb and looked brilliant

This was the game that made me mention it here.
We could turn it into the supporters Christmas doo lol and what ever the result just have a bloody good time.
-
I like nothing better than seeing Peterborough being beaten, even better when it's at there own place! McAnthony is a nasty, vindictive man who always has way too much to say for himself!
-
Soft spot for Peterborough away, Kev Rogan from Thorne branch bought me my first ever pint in Golden fleece Stamford on way there 1988 - Everard's tiger bitter btw

1,300 is a joke unless they release more once they've sold
-
I don’t think there will be a problem getting a ticket with the recent apathy with the FA Cup, plus we will get more if those actually sell out
-

Yes , me too. Did you go on Coach from Stainforth ?
I did and that was certainly one of my first solo away games though probably not my first
It's the last time I went there and I was telling someone the other day and then said omg that made me 14
Bloody hell.

How many do you think we will take?
Don’t think we ever took more than 900 for a League 1 match.
No way will we take 1363 especially with a rail strike. Not a chance imo.
Would be good if we did though. :)
-
They seem to be selling well

Yes rail strikes are on but how many people actually pay the extortionate train fairs anyway?
It's the 2nd round, chance of a cracking 3rd round draw, easy to get to by car or coach, McCann derby.
Or is it just me that's really buzzing about this game which is clouding my judgement?
-
We last went in grants last season with marquis scoring a great goal, what threw me was the wooden church pews on the last row of the stand lol
-
I am buzzing for this too. He has already beaten one of his old teams this season. Lightening could strike twice.

Yes Wolfie I did go on that coach.
My mum had a barbers shop there so we went to the shop with her in the morning and walked to meet the others that were going.
We lived in Moorends but I can’t remember how we got back there afterwards.
I suppose that either mum or dad came to pick us up from Stainforth.
Can you remember if the coach went back to Thorne and Moorends?

No cos I would have got off in Stainforth as at that time I was living at 4 Fourth Square Stain ... Fourth
I sent a joke in to Noel Edmunds a few years later and he spent more time repeating and laughing at that than the joke itself

222 tickets left from initial allocation.

Me and an old pal of mine have our tickets. We had train tickets booked but looks like that will be refunded. Anyone know any mini buses or owt with couple spare seats available? We like to have a beer with footy so would prefer not to drive but might have to as last resort!

I'm not in the supporters club but have booked two coach seats with Paul.
I think it is just £2 extra for non members.

ALL have to be members

Does anyone have contact details for Paul please?

Just say his name 3 times and a gnome will appear - I have somewhere will dig them out unless someone beats me to it

He’s Retford Rover on here if you’d like to message him privately. Failing that, he’s on Facebook.

Going to be a fantastic turnout.
More going than I thought would to be honest.
Really sorry I am missing this game and I have a feeling we will win it.
-
I've been to Peterborough probably 8 times over the years, nothing sticks out more than Gareth Roberts fantastic goal in a 2-1 win in the Championship in 2010, a win what really made me think we had a shot at making the playoffs.

If we're going off the Rovers ticketing site, there's nowhere near 1300 seats in those two blocks that have been put on sale up to now.
I reckon the "A" blocks are probably part of the initial 1300. Or maybe one of them (upper/lower) takes it to 1300 and the other block to 1800.
I'd estimate between 500-600 sold so far. All this could be wrong of course though.
-
I agree can’t see there being that much interest especially as it only open to ST holders currently
Still a decent effort so far though

Yep, and still plenty of time left too. Given we've taken between 600 and 800 on our last few league visits there, anything above 1k would be a brilliant effort for this game.
-
1,300 is a joke unless they release more once they've sold
How many do you think we will take?
Don’t think we ever took more than 900 for a League 1 match.
No way will we take 1363 especially with a rail strike. Not a chance imo.
Would be good if we did though. :)
I told you I had a good feeling about this, 1,100 sold so far.
we haven’t. Only block B on sale atm, they haven’t released tickets for Block A. Guessing it will be about 500 sold atm.
Ah right, normal rules posted that there were only 220 odd tickets left of initial allocation.
The initial allocation was 1363. As of right now there are 140 left . So 1223 have been sold. Once sold there is another block available of around 500 as the full away allocation is around 1800.
Block A upper and Lower tickets haven’t been released yet. Block A upper and Lowr and B upper and Lower will be the 1300 so I’d say weve sold about 500-600 tickets so far. Still a good effort and not on general sale yet so would expect at least 1100.
Hats arrived today aswell.

Try Paul Mayfield although you’ll have to join the supporters club
I'm not in the supporters club but have booked two coach seats with Paul.
I think it is just £2 extra for non members.
I don't know if Paul has confirmed this yet or not, but everybody who travels on the Supporters Club coaches has to be a member of the club. It was a decision taken at the start of the season and effectively brings us into line with all other South Yorkshire football coach operators. After discussions at SYPIAG meetings it was felt that it would be good practice to do so.

Yh u have to be a member now but u can sign the forms and become a member on the coach.

I spoke to Paul last night about this and he explained that we can join the SC on the day on the coach.

I wonder how many coaches Paul is putting on with the rail situation ?

Just got tickets for me and my lad, just under 600 tickets sold so not as good as we thought. Hopefully shift another 600 on general sale.
Santa hats have arrived.

I’ve just looked at online tickets and they have opened up the remaining upper and lower A Blocks . There are just over 700 tickets left in total. So they have sold over 1100 as the whole allocation is around 1800.
-
700 left of the 1,350 allocation, I've just asked the lady at ticket office
-
These are the online tickets left. Upper and lower A only became available today, groundguide has the away capacity at around 1800.

Mate, I spoke to the lady in the ticket office and she said ignore what you've heard on social media as we've only sold just under 600 tickets.
The 700 tickets left are of the initial 1350 allocation.
If they sell (which I don't think they will now) then they would open more blocks of the away end

Yh the whole away end holds 1800 but we’ve been given 1300.
We haven’t been given the whole away end.
-
1000 would be a good effort. Not sure they will be that interested. Maybe the McCann factor could help. Their average league gate is 9k.
-
Most FA Cup early rounds have lower attendances than their league match averages.
We'll have a much bigger attendance when we play Accrington in the home league match than we did in the FA Cup.
-
Yes, that’s all true. Not sure anyone would think differently.

we took 800 for Wimbledon at twice the price tickets, this is disappointing..

Got to admit I was really disappointed when she told me.
We've got just over a week to push this.

Some on here seem to be disappointed with the amount of tickets sold so far for the Posh game. I think it's quite good for an FA Cup 2nd round tie.

Me too - BUT if we can get a couple of decent results / performances this Sat and next Tues we could easily see another 2 or 300 more which really would make for a great atmosphere

I also think that there are the great unwashed like me and my son who arent ST holders who can only buy on Monday - I suspect we'll collectively will be looking for a good number. dont forget that a lot of the Wimbledon away crowd was us southern softies who are unlikely to have a ST

Car park on the corner of Oundle Road and London Road has been a good bet in previous visits.
Can't remember if you have to pay, but if so, worth it IMO. Loads of space and close to the ground.
-
600 to season ticket holders is very good, expect us to sell at least 1100.
-
Might be worth looking at your parking space app, car parking may be busy with it coming up to Christmas etc
-
2 hats got
-
I’m sure I parked in the housing estate round the corner last time

Santa hat head count, who's going and who's wearing one?
Interested to see if this is gaining traction.

Yes on both counts.
3 hours there and 3 hours back in the car for me, but thanks to your rallying cry I’m in.
So it’s all your fault Nudga!

First time I went was when my father was referee and the centre forward was Terry Bly scorer of 54 goals their first year in the league 1960-61 season.
Dad asked him to give me a few tips on shooting and he was good enough to answer " when you see the goalkeeper aim at him, you will miss him mostly" and not bad information really and gave dad and the other players a giggle, but he explained the thoughts behind it later to a confused youngster.
that was my trick when I played darts aim for triple one every time. I used to say that the late Bobby Charlton aimed for the centre of the goal and it seems there was (with the type of balls at the time) some mileage in it.
