Most goals in a season by a loan player for Rovers:

2018-19   16 M.Wilks (14 in the League)
2009-10   15 B.Sharp (all in the League)
2020-21   11 T.Richards (10 in the League)
2003-04   10 C.Brown (all in the League)

Jon Forte scored 13 goals on loan but over two seasons (4 + 9)

If we can keep Mo the whole season he could top that list

Getting way ahead here, but last time two players scored more than 20 for us in the same season - Peter Kitchen 25(23 Lg) & Brendan O'Callaghan 27 (21Lg) in 1975-76

He was signed late in 1991-92 and scored 6 goals very quickly in the remaining few matches. IIRC we then signed him on a permanent in the summer, and he scored 11 the following season.

I looked today to see what odds Faal was to be top scorer in the league and he didn't have a quote but you could get 350/1 on that player we loaned to Boston S??? --   Ironside was either 60/1 or 80/1

I do remember 3 " loan" ringers playing in this league Duncan McKenzie  --  Jemaine Defoe - and that big Arenal player Campbell ? ( who earlier scored was it 5 in the Youth Cup Final at Belle Vue)  let's dream that Faal becomes the 4th ringer  :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

The reason that those players are more recent relatively is that previously most loans were short term. Now it is standard that outside of emergencies they are with you for half or full season, hence them being able to stack up the goals if they are decent.

If they did well on loan previously and you could, then you signed them, as there was no window. That’s what we did with Jeffrey who from memory wasn’t on loan with us for that long at all.

Campbell got three goals at BV as I recall.
