Another one gone, and will be remembered for the song with Kirsty McColl

I loved the Pogues.
McGowan was a rare talent.
Saw them live a few times.
Got my daughter into them too.
Lovely times with her doing a jig to 'Thousands are Sailing.' or 'Bottle o Smoke'

I saw a video of him recently and wondered how he was still alive. RIP to a true poetic genius.

Troubled genius, but a unique talent. His lyrics were truly one of a kind. Having watched that documentary about him that came out a couple of years back, and seen and heard the health he's been in, I can't help but feel it's a mercy he's passed away though.

Went to see him in Manchester about 12 years ago, I was amazed how he managed to stay on his feet, he was pissed when he started did 3 songs and shuffled off in his slippers then came back and belted out 24 songs whilst demolishing 5/6 Pints of Guinness and a Bottle of Paddy’s  Potsheen ! RIP top lad,

Sad loss, I saw the pics of him in hospital and thought he wasn’t long for this world. Then his Mrs stated he was on the mend and coming home.
RIP fella

Great songwriter. I followed the Pogues all over in the 80s,including the 'legendary' gig when he was too pissed to perform and Joe Strummer stepped in(what a great piece of fortune that was). S Mc,just kept blahing on about 30 pieces of silver and Spider Stacey carried him off stage.
