Title: Sunak in the next Election campaign
Post by: BillyStubbsTears on December 15, 2023, 12:08:47 pm
I've noted before how he is clearly drilled to say the same things over and over again in public, and noted that this risks being a car crash in an Election campaign, where issues emerge faster than you can be coached.

I hadn't seen this performance at the COVID Inquiry.

Oh dear...That ain't going to work in an Election campaign.

Don't you stress Billy, i'm sure Starmer will also have his greatest hits compilation out before the election for you to add to your collection.

You don't want it to, do you?

I don't know what you mean BB.

No, I don't want a senior politician who, when questioned about his decisions at an inquest, aimed at finding lessons from the biggest emergency in 70 years, rocks up and says he can't remember anything.

Do you want to be ruled by that sort of politician?

No matter what Sunak had said, or any Tory for that matter, you would find fault with it, because you don't want them to succeed in an election campaign, do you?

No, I don't want anyone from this Tory party to succeed in a general election. Because I think they are badly mistaken on most key policies as I've pointed out in detail.

Your constant misunderstanding is to think that is dislike their policies  for no other reason than that they are Tories.

That's wrong.

I dislike their policies because I have profound issues with their intentions, and with the logic of them.

THAT is why I want the Tories to lose.

But in the meantime, this thread was a marker to refer back to when the election comes around. Because, whether you like Tory policies or not (and I don't know if you do, given that you never discuss policies) it's clear that Sunak always parrots coached phrases. And that is a recipe for an excruciating mess in a fast moving election campaign.

Remember Theresa May in 2017? Unable to do anything but stammer prepared responses to every question.

And this performance ...............

''Rishi Sunak has been accused of adopting the “toxic” rhetoric of his former home secretary Suella Braverman, after he warned that migration would “overwhelm” European countries without firm action''

See the similarity? ............

''Trump tells rally immigrants are ‘poisoning the blood of our country’'

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/dec/16/trump-immigrants-new-hampshire-rally

There's not a lot of difference aye?

I find it interesting to hear what people like bst think about the increasing numbers of illegal immigrants that turn up in the UK and how he, or others like him, would handle the situation.

I find it sad to see how most people follow the msm narratives and consequently get caught up in the small detail of small problems whilst ignoring or even supporting the greater abuse of ordinary people whilst fat cats, including the leading politicians and their families, are on the make. Perspective eh?

On the solution to your stated problem. Very simply employ more people to process the migrants as a no brainer starter.

40000 last year as opposed to 745000 legal migrants. I would be interested to hear why people like hound think 40000 people are 'a problem' and 745000 (that is 705000 more) not a problem?

In the latest figures 62% of the refugees claiming asylum were found to have valid claims. So I should also be intersted to hear why people like hound call genuine refugees fleeing war and persection 'illegal immigrants'?

The answer to your question of course being - set up a processing centre in France.

Wilts, where, just where, did I say that immigrants with a valid claim are illegal immigrants.
It is you who have stated that, not me.
I asked about the illegal immigrants, and didn’t mention the people who you mentioned, but thanks for your suggestion about setting up a processing centre in France.
Haven’t we given the French millions of pounds to date to try to stop the boats.

I am beginning to wonder if his aides are trying to get rid of him.

"Got a plan boss. You look so comfortable in public, let's have you..."

https://twitter.com/SkyNews/status/1738225381361258873

Just utterly f**king surreal!

Can you picture it? The PM walking round Kings Cross. Approaching people. "Hello. Are you a key worker? Have a mince pie. Sorry? You're not? Ooooh, no mince pie for you then."

Sunak, he hasn't got a bullshit radar, lacks any connection with reality.

He should let his talent free,  show the public what he's got. Get that air guitar out,  take off those daft trousers, put on his shorts and school blazer, and let rip to Highway To Hell.

He's going to be an absolute car crash in a full on election campaign.

https://twitter.com/anandMenon1/status/1743004879289765894

Listen to this. He's learnt his lines and repeats them twice pretty much verbatim. He's going to make May in 2017 look like Rodney Dangerfield.

Zero personality or relatability. Comes across as disingenuous so all I hear is empty words.

I see promises that will be hard to means-test and fulfil from Starmer, but he is coming across as more prime ministerial and it does this country good not to go too long with one ruling party, as things can go stale.

Not everybody is a political monster and the political ideologies of the 2 parties are the closest they’ve been in years. Sometimes for the electorate they can be swayed by little things such as “Who is more genuine?”, “Who would I rather go for a pint with?” Or in the case of the USA, who is taller*. In which case the halfling would be doomed.
