Title: Anderson/Olowu
Post by: Butchers Red on December 26, 2023, 06:42:19 pm
Just watched the highlights - first goal not great but their second - just WOW !

How does Tom allow McGoldrick to steal 3 yards and lunge for that pass ??

How does Olowu weakly give up a 3 yard advantage and allow Langstaff in ??

Unbelievably bad and credit for Grant having the balls to hook them both at half time - also credit to Sterry who had a great first half for me - looks a class above and never got beat once - faded in second but after that showing by his central pair mates hardly any wonder.

To be fair McGoldrick is an incredible signing for any League Two club despite his age .

He scored 25 goals at Derby County last season in league one .

Both replaced because of injury, according to GM on Football Heaven.
Anderson with his back again.

So who will come in to face Mansfield on Friday?

Great if these pair are injured it means the pairing of Rowe and Biggins on Friday in midfield. Not sure what's worse.

Our most impressive centre halves in recent seasons have been 2 midfielders and 2 youth team players

The second goal - how Olowu managed to find a way to be second to that ball across I will never know.

It looked bad in real time and just as bad on the highlights.

It said on t he Radio Nottingham commentary that Notts normally take short corners and they had never seen them take as many direct corners. Am guess they identified a weakness.

Where as our direct corners fail to beat the man at the front post.

:that: it absolutely riles me up that we can’t beat the first man on near enough, every single corner. These players shouldn’t call themselves that because they aren’t even good enough to do the basics!

If we had even an average centre back pairing we would have got a point minimum from yesterday's game. The 2 playing in the first half yesterday wouldn't be considered for a Conference North team!
