Title: We took back control
Post by: BillyStubbsTears on December 27, 2023, 12:09:43 pm

Someone is getting paid with public money to come up with this. Just think. Some civil servant has been instructed by their minister to write that text below. About "new freedoms" from leaving the EU.

We are a joke country. We've stopped thinking seriously about anything and wrap ourselves up in this surreal Little England shite.

Count the seconds down till this bunch gets hoyed out. Then we can start the long, hard process of trying to make us a grown up country again.

Look BST, we're British, we tell the world what to do and they just do it!  Don't they?

Don't worry NCR, you will get the flowering of the seeds Merkel sowed for the EU within the next ten years, you will be getting the call from a minaret every Friday.
In fact its already here £3 for less than half a pint bottle of non alcoholic lager, and it isn't taxed.
Decimalisation, metrification, and Covid have been the biggest drivers of added costs in my lifetime, not to mention the rounding down of measurements in things like wood and other materials that are just that little bit smaller manufactured in metric.
If anyone had said a 4oz 6d(old pence) would one day cost £1 and more when I was a kid they would have thought you mad.

Pity the Express hasn't realised the scheming EU have left out all non EU countries, not just the UK.  Or maybe they have and just hope the anti-EU brigade wouldn't notice?

I love it when the EU gets blamed for stuff that was nothing to do with our membership of it. Like decimalisation, metrification, Covid and inflation.

Did Merkel cause record immigration numbers 6 years post-brexit too?

you could "spend a penny" in the public toilets 240 times for a quid. Next day you could only go 100 times.

.......... That was blatantly taking the piss.

Crikey a quid to spend on sweets back then!!
I can remember going to the shop near the chippie near the Bay Horse and the school c'mon BB what was the street called, spending my half a crown pocket money for the week, on 30 Anglo bubblies when the wrappers were the info about individual footie teams with the colours they played in, ground, history etc I think at the time I only needed 3 or 4 to complete the full set of English and Scottish teams and after buying them still needed 3 or 4 to complete the set

I never saw any money on the street when I was delivering milk for the Co-op there in 1974/75.
In the main nice people and stopped for a cuppa with Mrs. Kyles every morning.

How many leavers still haven't realised they've been had?

Of course they have. Anyone thinking that it would disappear to show we've beaten the EU was fantasising. Any UK business that wants to export to an EU country still has to comply with EU standards and carry the mark on their goods to prove it. That was never going to change, and businesses won't want tospend money they don't need to to have separate business lines for EU and non-EU goods.
