With regards to that third goal, we have tried that near post routine a few times recently and when it has been cleared some people around us have said the usual, “can’t beat the first man”.
Strangely enough, no one complained today.

I wished they had shown the shot from our half to lob their goalie that went wide.

They are generally aiming for the near post when they hit the “first man”. Front post corners are statistically the most dangerous.

We did the same routine against Colchester and Maxwell scored from it. Maybe it's one of those scenarios where people don't like it because of the higher risk of failure, but it's actually more effective than bombing it into the middle.

I know Gaz, and that is why I like them.
If the first contact doesn’t go into the goal it sometimes just turns the ball into a dangerous area too where it might result in a goal.

Rowe has always been good with that near post run as well, going back to previous spells at the club he scored numerous goals from that kind of delivery. Good to see him make his mark yesterday, thought he had a good game.
