That’s their neck of the woods.

They're building up quite a portfolio of clubs now.

They only go where the money is, so expect transfers at Colchester this window

It’s a decent appointment for Colchester and they did a good job at Lincoln but I think they are overrated tbh.

This will probs be their last chance to keep themselves in the efl, only so long they can live off their good spell with Lincoln.

There’s been no talk of “money” there though and I see the local news. They’ve struggled along thanks to quite a few loan players from the clubs on the east and south eastern side of London (which is just about commutable) but their league position has invariably been precarious. Quite a nice ground though. As BV says it’s probably the Cowleys last stand.

I googled Concorde Rangers (I hadn't a clue where they play) as I knew they started out there before almost getting Braintree (also ESSEX) in the league - turns out it's Canvey Island !!

Last January when Colchester were flirting with the relegation trap door they signed 14 players as opposed to Gillingham's lowly 11 signings

so presumably the owner will be prepared to do the same again !!   their form improved before dropping off pretty badly towards the end of last season.

The last couple of seasons they have not done a lot of business in the summer but then when struggling halfway through the season they spend a bit of money and bring in a lot of players to make sure they stay up.

Expecting the same again.
