.... of paying good money * , just to watch players inventing new ways to deprive me of what I have paid for. That is to watch a game of Football
Already games average only 60 minutes of the ball actually being in play and being passed and crossed and shot at goal but today Newport took the p*** and the Ref let them.
OK he added 6 minutes on in first half and 8 in the second but of that 8 we had the ball in play about 3 minutes so that too is robbing us as spectators of what we have paid for. I want to watch Football not grown men time waste endlessly
* OK my Season Ticket is a bargain BUT it could be so much more value

I agree. Why has the clampdown from the start of the season ended, it was better?
They took the piss with no intention to play football.
-
I'd be interested to see how many Kms their physio racked up.
-
My fault I actually said at half time the ref wasn’t bad, he made up for it in the second though shocking.
Really needs an in-depth look at the time and wasting, particularly when a goal is scored.
Particular praise for the Newport physio for how she managed to get a severely injured goalkeeper fit to take a goal kick with no trace of a limp

To be fair when the ball is in play it's shocking

I'm quite philosophical about footy & Rovers these days, but that's the first time for a long time that I've felt sick like that at the full time whistle. Yes, we only have ourselves to blame for missed chances, but overall I couldn't fault the effort.
Newport's second half tactic was clearly to stop the game after every attack we had, I said to the blokes around me that the justice would be if we got the winner in the time added on for their wasting, what a kick in the teeth....

Teams know how badly we’re playing and stick their plan of frustration and IT works !!

Game management is the new term for time wasting.

If you want to watch a sport where the more deserved team wins the game then football isn't for you. As it is, the team that scores the most goals wins the game and often is the case that it is not the best team.

That’s what makes is so great to watch. Most sports the most deserved team tends to win, not football.

....And also the most frustrating, irritating, gut-wrenching, blood boilingly f***ing annoying!

Only laughable thing about the match was watching their physio trying to run across the pitch in her mums high heels!

It’s a big question though - when does it all end? We have lost a colossal amount of games the last few seasons. We have become under various managers, professional losers. Week in, week out, few wins, lots of losses. It must have an impact on gate receipts. Any momentum that the McCann return and JR building up atmosphere on the first game of the season, has long since gone.
It’s impossible to say what the issue really is now. So many different managers, different players, different leagues, different formations and styles. Just one constant - abject defeats time and time again, largely against sides with lesser resources than we have available. It’s debilitating.
-
Good teams don't have the problems we have because we are not a good team. Newport did it spot on, and are not the first team to play that way against us, and will not be the last this season.
It is noticeable when players like Molineux have a relatively poor game by their own standards because he has played well in games and he gets criticism.
Others don't get as much criticism because nobody really expects them to play well.

We are going to improve, things I think are getting better at the club. There is no doubt that we have been spun many a tune by the previous chairman and people with influence here included about the budgets at the ambitions of the club and that of Club Doncaster overall. All of which had an effect on the field and off it too.
Think back to Copps last season who was pissed off at all the supporters when he was ranting about the calling about Danny and how he was asking what could Danny do with such a small budget, think to Richie Wellens and the signings he was forced to make...I mean some of them were literally Dodoo.
Now fast forward to Grant and Cliff without a doubt two very good coaches/management and to the signings they made...the goalkeepers - I can only assume they were cheap! (and that's not a blame on the two lads we have) but rather an indication of what the manager was getting to spend. Do we have a huge squad or do we have a diluted squad and a lot of cheaper wage players; do we really think Jones, Ravenhill, Bobby, Flint, McGrath, DeGruchy, Kuleya are costing us a lot of wages? Sure others maybe on a decent amount but don't for one minute be fooled into thinking our wage bill is excessive - I mean we don't only make money at the car boots our managers have had to shop at them in the past for players and that is what Grant and Cliff have had to work with - now we were told a large cash injection was being put in by Terry which it may have been but we need it and may need more investment in the future, and I do mean investment as I believe we have a potential to create a return. But the numbers and interest is dropping and so too I assume will the revenue.
The attendances are poor, the number of away fans at the Eco is piss poor BUT we can bounce back as a club.
The meet the owners event I believe was OK and had honesty to the fans...but as fans or supporters I guess it's our responsibility to show patience, loyalty and support to the team, management and even the board.
I do think we will improve but it's going to take time and I'm here for it and them too. It's time to look forward as a club and understand that Newport County, Forest Green Rovers and Sutton are our competition not Leeds, Sheff Utd, Brentford or even Rotherham for that matter.
It's time for US to become TLOD again and not the other way around.

Thread seems to have derailed and become a critique of Rovers Seasons of late whereas it was originally about the colossal time wasting
Yesterday was as DULL as a 0-0 could ever be , it comes to something when biggest cheer was when the Ref gave a foul ON Ironside on about 70 minutes BUT was made more excruciating by Newport's dark arts in Time wasting
My point in OP was , we as fans are paying for a product ( a game of Football) to watch a game , not to watch their keeper feign injury then recover enough to take a goal kick . Or to then also take 3 free kicks almost on half way line. Or watch 3 of their players discuss who was going to take a vital 90th minute throw in and none of their players going to discuss with each other who was going to take a Corner in added time just wasting time
All Teams do it but ffs it made yesterday's "entertainment" even more excruciating. It needs stopping now somehow or was it just me bored s*****ss for 2 hours ?
