This doesn’t sound especially positive.

Pitch inspection by whom?  If it's the ref it would be ludicrous to make a decision today when the forecast is set to improve overnight.

Given the proximity of both clubs the inspection could conceivably be at midday tomorrow.

Shocking decision, should be 8:30 tomorrow morning

Can't see much sun getting to the pitch with the height of the stands, or is it their manager who watched us Tuesday running scared? and wants to play on a later date when they have completed their signings in the window.
In fairness I have just been over the fields with the dog and the land is solid

Personally I don't think they want to play us at the moment. As someone else said 11.30 or midday tomorrow would be ample if there was 100's of miles between the two teams fine but............

Think it makes sense can plan things now

It’s thawing like mad at the minute. First time I have seen the grass and pavements near us without snow or ice on in four days.
I don’t think that City really wanted to play the game just now.

I agree daft decision for a game just up the road to call it off this early. If it was the other end of the country fine no problem. They don't want to play us at the moment for whatever reason

It was the only possible outcome. Not sure it’s appreciated how frozen the soil is after these last few days.

I thought the decision on postponement was entirely for the referee.  How can it be right that the preference of a club official can influence that?

A local referee should have carried the inspection, someone like Bobby Madley whose from Bradford

This is an absolute joke. To call the game off 25 hours before it was due to start, when the forecast is for much warmer conditions overnight tonight and tomorrow, borders on insanity. Yes, it has BEEN very cold, but it is expected to be above freezing for over 30 hours before kick off, with rain expected. Add to all this, that it is a local derby, so most fans need under one hour travelling time. Utterly nonsensical.

Shame to all those involved in today’s pitch inspection, shocking decision to call it off, the pitch will need 24 hours of a temp of +2 degrees and you will achieve a thaw. The temp as been +4 for the past 6 hours and will drop no lower than +3

Their manager didn't want to play if he could get away with it, He has just brought a striker back from loan who was scoring goals, we are in the middle of the transfer window and he manages probably the biggest club in the division, so a good chance for some going out and some in nearer the end of the window who will be integrated by them into the team by the time the game is played.
He is trying to seek an advantage that could back fire on him after losing momentum the last few weeks.
One benefit, it will be on ifollow and the dodgy sticks

A bit previous. What's wrong with 10 am inspection tomorrow.

If it’s deep frozen it ain’t going to thaw

Yes a pathetic , terrible , premature and let's face it expedient decision

This smells to all eternity and back.

Last Season Crawley it was alleged didn't want to play us yet we were on our first rendition of Baby Shark on the Coach on the day of the game when we were turned back after a 9am inspection ( the Sprinklers were adding to the rain it was alleged ). Ok they stopped our Coach doing a journey for nowt . Understandable

When we played Leeds the game was called off  after an inspection at 9 or 10 in morning although people said we could have played by KO. That was an example of doing it " better " and I reckon ( unless there are extenuating circumstances I and others are not aware of ) this postponement is / was far far far too early

As mentioned the fact it's a local game, combined with the supposedly increasing temperature between now and kick off make the decision to call it off over a day before KO completely baffling. It could be done at 11am tomorrow and have minimal impact on fans etc.

If Farsley Celtic manage to get their game on tomorrow then we should be asking some serious questions about this.

Ridiculous decision calling a localish fixture off that early. My boiler condensate pipe was frozen solid this morning, no time to sort it before work, so no hot water or heating all day, just got in the ice has melted and the boiler works fine, it’s been 4 degrees all day from mid day

One plus is that it will save some of our less hardy and robust players from picking up any injuries....
