Title: Sutton train advice..
Post by: adamtherover on January 20, 2024, 04:51:23 pm
Hi all, just after some travel advice for the final leg of the train journey, I've read there's going to be issues with Thameslink,  not sure what that entails, but what route would London locals take,  vauxhall to west Sutton, or st pancreas to west Sutton..  I'm fine on the tube, but not very confident navigating over grounds..  TIA

I booked trains a fortnight ago and there’s a couple of ways, via St Pancras to West Sutton or via Victoria to Sutton, perhaps it depends on what time trains your looking for

It looks like it’s the West Coast, Avanti and East Midlands trains aren’t running on the 3rd of Feb, so it should be ok getting from Kings Cross to Sutton and back

I thought I'd set the app up wrong by having the arrive time the same as the depart time, but no, there is literally no trains to west Sutton on satdi?

I'd check these tickets are still valid?

Why shouldn’t the tickets be valid ? Those train companies that are on strike don’t run trains to Sutton/West Sutton

I'm kinda working on the basis that if you can't book tickets from any station to west Sutton, that's because no trains are going at any time slot on Saturday, I hope I'm wrong....

Rail strikes caused by Thameslink messages is now popping up on the app, not sounding great..
