Title: Cameron John
Post by: Chris Black come back on January 23, 2024, 10:08:57 pm
Were we to blame for his situation? Now in National League with Rochdale. Thought he was initially far, far better than that. Amazing record this season of 8 bookings in 20 league games.

He’s been good for them by all accounts. Sometime have to take a step back then take a couple forward. Look at Danny Amos, he’s been good this season in L2.

It has happened plenty of times over the years.
Russ Wilcox had a great career but early on he had to go back to Frickley before coming back into the leagues and doing well for himself.

Had a slow start at Rochdale due to injuries but got back into the team and is looking the player we got on loan originally.

Would be more than happy to have him back here, if he could stay injury free.

Wasn't his problem we couldn't find the right position for him?

I think we were well covered at CB at the time. And he had some absolute stinkers at LB from memory.

I thought he was always pretty tidy on the ball - he reminds me of Oluwu - decent enough on the ball but positioning not great in defending crosses and they both just need that ruthless streak - both a bit too nice on the pitch. Harrogates third goal case in point where any other team would have wiped their number 9 out at the halfway line, but we let him run without making a tackle.

Cameron seems a decent lad, nice fella and hope he builds back up. My lads showed me a youtube video where it's Trent and a few youtubers guessing who is the pro footballer - and it was Cam John! He seemed steady and likeable in that.

Branden Horton likely to do the same as well.

Hasn’t Danny Amos been released by  Grimsby

He’s still there. Played against us at our place, and played quite well if I remember correctly.

Very true and one of the few times that one of our ex players didn’t get the boo treatment by a small section of south stand idiots.
