Just found this pic in the garage. Good condition. Let's say bidding to start at £200.
All proceeds go to the local firearm projectile society. Any offers?

Any idea why John Ogston was always called Tubby Ogston?
He and Glen Johnson would, I think, have been the Rovers keepers in the first couple of seasons watching Rovers and I’ve only vaguest of memories of them. I’d always assumed in the years since that he must have been in need of a diet but definitely not the case we you see this photo.

Glen Johnson signed for Rovers a year or so later. Gordon Morritt and John Gavan were the other two Rovers keepers in season 1968/69.

Yep, remember now.

I wasn't sure until I Googled it!

That was the team when I first started supporting the Rovers.
Amazingly, I think I could still name the whole line up, which I couldn't do for any other Rovers team since!
Well, I could name the current line-up but my psychiatrist has advised me to try not to think about it.

To be honest, I wouldn't recognise any of our current squad if they walked past me in the street!

I can remember all the names from 68 to 70 but they’re in one mixed bundle. John Regan’s ‘tache I remember and also the night Stuart Robertson came to our school.
‘So, whose your favourite player?’ the teacher asked me knowing I was the only Rovers fan amongst a sea of Leeds and Man U ‘supporters’…’
‘Would it be Stuart Robertson or perhaps Alick Jeffrey?’
‘Keith Webber’ I replied.
I got a proper bollocking the next day. Apparently I was a very rude and ungrateful boy.

If you can name any of the players I'll knock a tenner off everyone you can name.

Front centre, with the ball at his feet, Richard Wood....he was 26 in this photo.

No offers BB, but I could definitely name all the players.

Ah but what about the manager and trainer?

Along with SOD and Kelly, Mac and Marshall are the best managers we’ve had in my time. I could name that team but as someone previously mentioned I couldn’t recognise half of the squad we have today and I’m a season ticket holder.

Yep, GooleRover beat me to it, Lawrie Mac and Frank Marshall. Used to watch them all train on Donny United's ground. Incidentally, Rovers used to own the house that backed on to ours. When Bill Lievers moved out John Flowers moved in, and then Stuart Robertson.
