Well done them for going after the run we have been on and some of the performances they have seen in the past few seasons. Wonder if any of them are on here? I am sure they will be delighted that of all the comments you could have made about the match you decided to pick them out.

I stayed at the end to clap them off despite having an hour drive home and hoping to go out last night.

It's diminished levels of excitement, Padge. It's what happens after 3 years of total crap, and your team scores a goal in a game between 2 teams near the foot of the EFL.
Moving a bit further away from the National League is hardly going to make people jump about and scream.
