Title: Blast from the past
Post by: Lesonthewest on February 28, 2024, 10:58:12 am
Had a delivery yesterday for a Mr Ray Ternent, yes the ex Rovers player, forum users of a more mature age will remember him I'm sure. Had a chat & mentioned seeing his diving header from behind the goal under the Belle Vue lights in that famous league cup victory v Hull City back in the 70s. Told me that header cost him his front teeth! Top man & lovely to meet a former player I'd completely forgotten about.

Remember the game very well.
Ray was a good old fashioned full back, a good old steady Eddie.
Lovely memories & nice to know he’s still with us. Thanks for sharing.

Yes I too remember it well, was chuffed when we made the back page headline in the Mirror I think it was the following morning, it read 'KITCHEN SINKER!' referring to Kitch's winner in the 2-1 win. Great days.

That put us in the QFs, where we got pumped 7-2 by Spurs, despite playing great up to the last 20 minutes.

I remember him as a midfielder. Think Reed was RB Derek.
