I take it short term means the rest of this season? Doesn't seem to say anywhere.
He must have shown enough while he's been here, seems a no brainer, take some weight off Joe.

To be fair, with the exception of Billy the Fish, these are minimum requirements for a footballer.

Billy the Fish was great at jumping and could slip thro defenders tho.

He also loved the wet and windy conditions.

Of course he’s a risk, and one Grant in his own words is very aware of, I would call it a calculated gamble, that could be brilliant for us.

Looking at that video, and not trying to knock Joe (he has had an awesome season) but this lad has great technique and can hit a ball very cleanly, Joe tends to scuff the ball a lot.

With the amount of assault and battery that Joe has to put up with in every game, a rest now and again is the least he deserves. Hopefully, Max gets near enough fit enough to have a serious impact in games, even if it’s coming off the bench.

Life is full of risks but if the rewards are there without risking huge amounts of cash, it’s well worth the punt.

I don’t get this “he hasn’t played for xx months” stuff. On that basis we’d never try any new youths because they’ve never played ever.

Is this just another drain on the clubs merge funds just like Jon Taylor or Steve Brooker ? What about looking through the leagues for youth and invest in prospects instead of trying to resurrecting a career that no other club seems to be bothered about or interested in!!

Max is 33 but not played for the last 2 years, calculated risk as had been said and surely he has earned the contract he has been given, the 2 year rehab may even have prolonged his footballing ability and longevity as he hasn't had the knocks and battering that Joe regularly gets week in week out, only time will tell and in GM we / i trust, looking forward to seeing the end result on the pitch helping to push this team up that league table.

I agree, Vaya, but we all know it doesn't always work like that. George Miller has no left foot, and Luke Molyneux has no right foot.

Think he will be on the bench this weekend maybe not get on just to be around the match day squad then build up with 10/20/30 minutes per game

Perhaps he wasn’t intending to join the 5th worst professional club in the country, so maybe we work together and both parties make a big success out of two situations, struggling club gives struggling ex useful player a chance.

Jamie Sterry               Back / Toe
James Maxwell              Knee
Tom Anderson              Back/Nose/fatigue
Joseph Olowu
Richard Wood               Calf
Luke Molyneux               Rib
George Broadbent
George Miller           Knee (Jan 2025)
Tommy Rowe           Shoulder/knee
Jon Taylor                  Knee (op)
Louis Jones           Broken thumb
Harrison Biggins         Quad
Thimothee Lo-Tutala
Tom Nixon                   Calf
Owen Bailey
Joe Ironside
Kyle Hurst                 Thigh strain
Jack Senior
Zain Westbrooke   Hamstring (E-O-Feb/Mar)
Jay McGrath           Hip
Liam Ravenhill           Cruciate knee
Bobby Faulkner       ACL (op)
Caolan Lavery            Knee (E-O-S)
Ben Bottomley
Ben Close                  Niggles/ankle (E-O-S)

I place my trust in GM as a man manager and more importantly, so it seems does this man . How many times in life and in your careers have you seen how the same people can be transformed by a man manager at the helm?

It’s a short term deal so hardly a financial drain.?

Plus, he’s a free agent we can sign - can’t sign prospects from the leagues outside the transfer window either..

Not sure what you’re trying to say, otherwise?

I agree, Vaya, but we all know it doesn't always work like that. George Miller has no left foot, and Luke Molyneux has no right foot.

Disagree with this, Molly puts some decent dinked crosses in with his right, more consistent than his left foot which half of time go for a throw on opposite side!

Seeing some of the comments on us signing him, I’m pretty excited about this. Hopefully still got it after a couple of years out.

Some of the Coventry fans comments on ‘X’:

“Greatest player in our recent history. Look after him #PUSB”

“Got yourself a gem there really nice lad to”

“He won't let you down and can score goals. Miss not playing Donny Rovers to be honest.”

“Absolute baller is Max! He'll give his all for the club and your fans! You look after him!”

“Max 'bicyclekick' Biamou! Go smash it up Max. Might have to make the trip up the A1 when cov aren't playing”

Even a Sutton fan comment:
“Great signing for you lot to be fair, still an absolute icon down here at Sutton even though he only played for us for 1 season. Brilliant player.”

https://x.com/drfc_official/status/1762855581042286734?s=46&t=NW2HQZbSZTCyeJVxHL-jUg

A few more that I’ve missed below our announcement. More comments from Coventry fans than our own!

McCann has at least for this season settled on a model that revolves around a single focal point for the attack. This is not a position that Goodman or even a fit Miller can play. It’s not even so much the goals (Ironside has lots) but that the single guy in the middle is where a lot of the play goes through, especially breaking out from defence. The new lad is a direct substitute for Ironside in this role and given we have zero substitutes for Ironside, this is a sensible decision given the options available.

Low risk signing and maybe akin to those off the wall end of season signings in the past like Akinfenwa, Richard Dawson or Don Goodman.

Surely his song has to be Xanadu by ELO and ONJ?

A player that nobody dared to sign
The love that we came to know
They call him Biamou (it takes your breath and it'll leave you blind)
And now, open your eyes and see
What we have made is real
We have signed Biamou (you dream of it, we offer you)

A million lights are dancing and there you are, a shooting star
An everlasting world and you're here with me, eternally
Biamou, Biamou
(Now we are here) with Biamou

Biamou, your neon boots will shine for you, Biamou

It’s to be hoped the ‘I’s’ have been dotted and the ‘t’s’ crossed, otherwise we may have to wait until, maybe, the Bradford game, on Tuesday.

For all those travelling, I hope he’s on the bench tomorrow.

So who do you think we can get outside of the transfer window?

He could turn out to be a real gem.

Seriously you don’t half come out with some unjustified negativity.

We tried to sign Messi but he wanted £297.000 per week more than we could afford.   :crying:

It’s a no risk signing. He will essentially be on no money and it’s only short term. Nearly impossible for him to have a big impact though given the fact he’s 33 played 3 matches in 3 years and coming off the back of a bad injury.

Pretty much a free hit though.

He was 27 when we signed him and had played 300 times
