Title: Gin traps/spring traps
Post by: Nudga on February 29, 2024, 09:15:38 pm
Please, please, please do not be tempted to use these if you have a vermin problem or if you hate cats.

Our cat some how found her way back home with a spring trap on her back leg.
After nearly a week of going back and forth to the vets, today she had her leg amputated.

There are better and more humane ways of getting rid of rats etc or deterring cats away from your garden.

The cat has obviously suffered no end, my little girl has been in bits seeing the skin on the cats leg basically turn to mush and fall off and also the financial stress it causes families.
£2,750 so far.

We don't have pet insurance as we have four cats and a dog and premiums are ridiculous so we knew one day this kind of thing might happen.

So if you have these kind of traps around your property, please replace them with something more suitable and less medieval.

I was talking to a neighbour this morning and apparently two cats have been shot in the face with a pellet gun around scawthorpe way.

Thanks mate. Cats tend to attach themselves to one, maybe two particular humans. This cat always went to bed with my daughter and slept there until she got up in the morning so it's her cat.
But, the cat is already recovering well and is now getting around the house and eating well.
Amazing how resilient they are.

Cats are awesome animals, hope it's recovering OK.

No wonder the Egyptians reveered them so much, so intelligent and independent, but at the same time fiercely loyal.
