Well, it was at lesser 8222…

good - a little bit of joined-up thinking and they could have made another £40k on ticket sales alone
but then again I wonder how much of a difference the benefit of their superior numbers on the night brought them - saved a 0-5 hiding, maybe.... :byebye:
-
Really. No. Surely not 8,200 ? That’s insanity when there were loads of us queuing for tickets. They simply threw away money
-
Lets be honest very few teams would give any extra tickets for a play off match

Granted but it didn’t do them much good

They don’t directly benefit from more sales do they. Put into the pot and split. Probably end up with a bag of sweets for the effort.

John Ryan in the crowd today. Looking well.
-
The food and drink sales from our extra fans would have helped them next season in league 2

true enough, but it does seem a bit pathetic when they know that there are hundreds of other fans who'd gladly pay to have watched the game and who could have easily been accommodated if only they'd segregated their 'family stand' end - but then I should know better than to give more than a split second's thought that anything to do with this game is ever done to benefit the mug punters who turn up to watch it, i suppose...
-
The family stand behind the goal was very sparsely populated. There was easily enough room for those sat in there to go in the main stand. They obviously don’t need the extra money.
As an aside, I thought the town has fallen on desperate times since the last time I went. The lovely Cheshire Inn now closed. Sad times. Indicative of many high streets up and down the country I suppose.
Last time I was there I had a pint in the Cheshire pre match, the day Billy Paynter scored 2. Mi dads old Thorne Grammar school pal Mick Sellars walked past and I pulled him in and bought him a pint. Like the pub, Mick is no longer with us. RIP Mick. Today was for you mate.

Matty Blair in with us as well wearing a Tommy Rowe shirt - what a cracking lad Matty is

I thought I was seeing things. Glad I’m not losing the plot. He always came across as one of the good uns.
-
Matty is one of my favs
-
Greeny was co-commentating.
-
No wonder they didn't need the money if they've been charging away fans £27 all season.
-
Don’t forget Ben Parkinson was there to cheer us on, I said hello to him as he was tucking into a pre match pizza in the town.

He was at Gillingham as well, in front row.
