Thought Man U didn't care about the greatest domestic cup competition in the world?!

Not arsed and didn't even know it was on until I opened this thread.
Coventry were cheated to make sure of a top 6 final.

About time we got our game back from the rich.

It's just like watching us play Crewe at home

It’s been a really good match to be fair.

Good game. City didn't really show up and tactically Utd were spot on.

115 charges but 0 FA Cups. Delighted to see them lose.

Mainoo was excellent, he’s surely a starter in the Euros with Rice and Bellingham

Great if you’re a Man U fan, not a good watch if you’re a neutral though, although nice to see the City train stall.

Other than the Rovers, I'm just a football fan. The best team won today, which is all I wanted.

Same tomorrow; I want the best team to win. F*ck all the knuckledragger fans, they're an irrelevance to me.

I’ve got a feeling Gallagher starts the first game.

I just looked to see who won the Scottish Cup Final and saw that Adam Idah scored late on to win it for Celtic.
And to think we might have had him on loan had he not scored that hat trick.

Watched that. The var decision for the rangers goal was very soft. Over 10 yellows and it wasn't even a feisty game.

Butland showed why Southgate didn't call him up.

Remember when Idah nearly signed for us?

Never thought I'd see the day that I didn't realise it was cup final day, as a kid I was glued to the tv from morning 'till night. How times change, & the greatest cup competition in the world is now a diluted money making entry into Europe.

I was the same too.
It was the only match shown live though Les whereas these days there is football on tv almost every day.

Didn’t watch it, I’ve zero interest to be honest, it loses all appeal once we are out of it

Same, I was busy doing some DIY, when my elderly mum text me to say she'd call me after the match.

I thought match? what match?  She knew Rovers had finished, I couldn't recall if England were playing a friendly, so I went inside to switch on TV....Bloody ell....The Cup Final!!

As you say, there's probably a few reasons why one of our institutions has left our consciousness which is very sad.

I didn't know it was on either, mind you, I've been indifferent towards football for a while....

Think Mick Jones threw the timing of the presentation out a bit

I join the other three of four comments on here already expressing indifference .I was brought up in the 50 ‘s when Cup Final day was a magical event not to be missed .It would be black and white TV only of course only and the curtains would be drawn to get a better picture at 11am when the build up started .The build up of the crowds with  their clubs colours on scarves , wooden rattles but no replica shirts yet in those days .and community singing .
All lead up to the awesome ‘ ABIDE with me ‘ characteristic of the occasion for everyone . Kenneth Wolstenholme was the lone commentator and was to football what Richard Dimbleby was to the Coronation on BBC .No adverts ,no replays of earlier rounds , it was one unique football occasion that was reknowned across the football world .
To get an idea watch highlights of the Mathews Ginal on You tube Bolton v Blackpool , Nat Lofthouse v Stan Mortensen and Stan Mathews . Magic .

The fact that yesterday the match was at 3pm on a Saturday instead of 4:30pm on a Sunday for the first time in ages might have thrown a few people off

Two observations from this years FA Cup,  like the Chesterfield semi final debacle the obvious cheating even with the technology available to cross off a winner for a smaller club in Coventry finished any real interest I have in the competition.
If the man handling of Harland at the far post from a set piece  is legal, then we want to start coaching kids it, the best way would be lessons at Wigan RFL club, their coaches are well versed in taking players out around the waist.
The game is rotten at the top end, referees, FA members and the FA cup have bent over backwards to get the same few teams to the final year after year. and turned it into a charade, the national League play offs are far more value in entertainment and respectability, as are the EFL play offs.
At least they are honest competition.

I watched Rashford’s body language after the game. He looked emotional & a couple of players were having a quiet word with him.

It reminded me of the time Gary Neville spoke to Beckham after a game & Beckham was seen to mouth “I’ve signed for someone, another club”.

Hope so. It’s unlikely but Rashford is still at an age where he can potentially blossom into world class, but he’s definitely not going to do that at Manchester United. Can’t really see who would take him on with what he’s reportedly being paid, though.

I hope he has signed someone else and scores a hat full goals, he’s another victim of the British press, tries to help people and then gets abused for doing so by the so called experts

VAR was correct, it was a blatant push on Joe Hart, and the hand ball incident, we’ve seen those given at other games too.

In the late 70's every year a gang of lads, me included, would congregate  at someone's place, beers at the ready. The whole afternoon would be Cup Final - it didn't matter who was playing. It was a BIG DAY. These days? I haven't watched it in decades. Couldn't give a toss. Football? For decades the worst managed industry in Britain - and it shows. If it wasn't for the Rovers I'd never watch a match again be it live or on tv.  If I ever did make a mistake and see one, I'd be supporting the Germans.  A sensible FA sensibly run.
