Title: The Mighty Quinn.
Post by: bellevuebulgar on June 03, 2024, 05:17:02 pm
One for the older members on here. Back in the  late 60s I recall the Mighty Quinn song/chant sung by visiting supporters at Belle Vue, as they had a “mighty” Quinn centre forward but I can’t remember if it was Rotherham or Barnsley. I suspect it was Rotherham.
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers.

It was Rotherham. They signed him from Sheff Wed and he was their star player.

Who would have thought that a Bob Dylan song would become a football chant.

I believe he was in the army when he played for Wednesdays, they had to get leave permission for him to play, sometimes coming over from Germany, good player.

We sung it at pool night too, when the Mrs had the pub.
