Anyone got any ideas when we'll see this?
Hoping for a green hibernian style shirt again.
-
Mid July I reckon
-
Light blue I reckon
-
Yellow shirts with brown cuffs and collar, brown shorts, yellow socks.

Yuck
I hope not.
Did I not see a photo of it being plain dark blue or was that just a bogus one?

Banoffee?
I think of it more as school chocolate sponge pudding with custard on.
-
Same as the buses used to be
-
Green and white for me. I admit that there's a personal reason for that, but there are also Donny football connections.
The Donny boys team that jointly won the English Schoolboys Shield in the 1950s, in front of 15000 at Belle Vue, played in green and white.
Also, as mentioned above, Bremner's Rovers teams always played away in the Hibs strip of green shirts with white sleeves.

I seem to recall us playing it away at Scunthorpe at the Old Showground round about 1975. If I remember correctly, the programme had it as Chocolate Brown and Custard Yellow

Yes, and we bloody well lost 2-1, despite Kitch scoring.
-
A kit like this is one of the few ways the eco-power sponsor would look good I think

We also wore it at Barnsley when Stan Anderson came as manager. Against the odds we won 1-0.

Parma...that's what this seasons should have been
-
Yellow shirts with brown cuffs and collar, brown shorts, yellow socks.
This would go down as an immediate cult classic
-
I’ve seen a picture of Olowu wearing a green and white hooped shirt but he looks the same as he did in the home shirt so not sure if it’s a photoshop
-
That Parma shirt is a great looking one Coventryrover, and would definitely get a big thumbs up for an away shirt from me.
-
Last night saw a green and white Celtic looking top being modelled by Olowu on my phone. Now I can't see it anywhere to check if it is real or a mock up someone has done. It was late and I had very low battery.
-
that Parmalat style shirt would be quite a statement

A Rovers fan on Twitter/X has done it, i was sent it and it's got his name on it.

Butterscotch!

Glyn, how are you now after your recent setback?

This put me in mind of the following match, and I quote the official DRFC record: “The Scottish Champions, Hibernian, were invited to Belle Vue on 4th March 1952 and a crowd of 18,474 witnessed the game that Hibs won 3-0.”
I think we were probably filling an empty Saturday after being knocked out of the Cup. I don’t think I realised at the time that they were Scottish champions and I had no idea where they were based, but the one thing that stood out at the time was that they were playing in colours reserved for Goalkeepers!
In those days no team ever played in black (which was what referees wore) and anything vivid would be ruled out as being unmanly! All football boots were brown - though rugby players sometimes used black; the reaction to pink or orange at that time would be unimaginable!
Ironically there was a period under Doherty I think when we played in white shirts and red collars and cuffs that I always thought was a bit too dainty. Fans didn’t wear them then of course. Rattles, often home-made and heavy to cart around, and scarves were the main equipment/emblems of allegiance, though I’m not sure about bobble hats.
-
Yellow shirts with brown cuffs and collar, brown shorts, yellow socks.
Didn’t we play in those colours before?
Away at Lincoln is one I went to.

Yes, mid 70s. Distinctly remember that kit in my first ever away outing at Oakwell. Managed a draw despite the dodgy colours. I have a press photo from a newspaper cutting somewhere in an old scrapbook. For those watching in black n white Doncaster are in yellow and brown!
-

Just looks like another poor photoshop. I don't know why he does it and presents it like it's a genuine shirt. Must love the attention or something. It's our home kit but with red changed to green.
Having said that, given the training kit range I'm expecting the away kit to have some green on it.
-
I'd be very happy with the blue/yellow one.
-
Tease on the official Twitter looks like sky blue with black horizontal pin stripe, reminiscent of the Nike hit in the Championship (think Coppinger listed it as his favourite shirt?)
-
Much nicer than last season’s 2 away strips
-
Sharp wearing it

Scunthorpe and Barnsley, as mentioned above.

It will fit all the fat lads like me then.
-

Oh I got it right, light blue
-
Lovely away kit that. V smart.
-
I don't like it, didn't like the last one we did over a decade ago. Sky blue is not a normal rovers away kit so I'm bemused why this has been chosen. But hey ho, king Billy is back so I'm happy
-
I like it. With the black shorts and powder blue sock. Smart

we had a sky blue away kit for years before Bremner changed it to green

We had it when Billy played for us before, very similar with white pinstripes, this seasons got black pinstripes.

Well it's certainly been rare for the last 40 years or so.
I just not like the colour sky blue. It's not for me. If fans like. It and it sells well then great. As long as the team performance in it then I'll be happy
-
Sky blue to one up Doncaster City? :D

We should all hate this colour for that very reason. "We all hate City!!! "
-
I love it - will buy one.... great contrasts
-
I think the Black shorts make it a decent kit, better than if with sky blue or white shorts.
-
I really like the new away kit and liked it that season we had it before too.
-
Stunning. Best away kit in years, the black shorts just complete it.
f**k what “Doncaster City” wear hahaha. They aren’t even worth mentioning, we had a light blue away kit before they even kicked a ball!
-
Black shorts make it a smart kit.
-
Makes a change. The Man City effect I suppose.
I had the Umbro sky blue kit with diamonds down the sleeve in whatever season that was. 1978-9 centenary or around then. Dark blue shorts. Got it from Ray Harrison’s. I can remember seeing it in those wooden drawers in that shop.
When it no longer fitted (about a year later) I just binned it! Wish I’d kept it. Man City also had Umbro at the time. Their socks were exactly the same, the shirts slightly different.

Darlington too on a hot day. Not one of my brightest ideas. I've mentioned my embarrassment many times on here
-
Strange nobody mentioned the African Violet kit from 83/84 Season .
Just had to keep it up for tradition
Like the Sky Blue as I've got the last one , so saves 40 ish quid lol
-
Anybody know if the badge is printed or sewn on? Always think printed is tacky

It was a thing of beauty that kit. I had the home strip which was identical but red with white diamonds
-
I could be wrong but I think those Umbro ones with the diamonds was the start of replica kits proper for us.
Yes you could buy a Rovers kit if you went to the club shop but it wasn’t widely available. For example my mate had the slightly shiny nylon red shirt with one white stripe down the sleeve. This was 1976ish. I had a similar looking Woolworth’s red shirt with white collar and cuffs. ‘Winfield’ brand. I had the DRFC cloth badge ready to go on and even got a white ribbon which I was hoping my mum would sew on the sleeves! Never did.
The kids of today…etc.

Doncaster City are an irrelevance.
Really like this kit. Looks classy sane as the team will be this season.
