Title: Sharp
Post by: philsky on June 25, 2024, 04:10:11 pm

Gets the 14 shirt.

A bit underwhelmed tbh.

Will be getting a shirt mind.

Why 14?

14 years since he last signed on a permanent?

Maybe Ironside (or one of the attacking midfielders/forwards) has claimed 10?

Sbarra will be 10 I think. Wasn’t Sharp No14 before at some point?

I've heard that Lewis Guy has dusted off his boots............ and been great in training.

Don’t diss 14 that was Johan Cruyff’s shirt number.

What number a player wears is probably about as tedious as what the kit looks like. At no point has anyone given a shit about the number on their back so long as they are performing on the pitch.

Sbarra was 7 at Solihull. Molyneux will be 10 imo.

I seem to recall that Sharp has had number five and number ten in his previous spells with us.

I don’t mind what number a player wears but hate it when it’s not relevant to their position.

Sharp wearing 5
Lockwood wearing 11
Two of the worst culprits.

Yep.

Would have ‘offered’ him the No.10 out of ‘respect’.

Don’t think any current Rovers player would have balked at that.

Not enough respect shown in today’s game. Might mean nothing to a supporter but we’ll never know what credence the player & manager put on it.

Billy clearly wanted 10 but fair play ran with it

I thought that Ironside would want it say as soon as it was available so was Rowe left that goes to Joe but seems it's gone to a new player on first come first served basis.

Billy should have signed a bit quicker ha ha

This is a pet hate of mine as well. At least when Sharp signed permanently he got the number 10. Lockwood being 11 for years was rubbish.

Unnecessarily high numbers is another pet hate of mine. No one needs a number higher than about 35 imo. Don't get me started on players who choose numbers like 50, 99 and so on. Not for me, Clive.

I hope he proves me wrong, but I am finding it difficult to get excited about this one. He will most definitely add to the dressing room, but on the pitch, I feel we are not gaining much. I watched him in a game for Hull, albeit at a much better level, and he had all the attributes of a tranquilized rhinoceros. I love the bloke and hope I am wrong.

Does this mean there'll be no 14 shirt for our Noah son?

He can have one if he gets to 10 before christmas.

Didn’t he say 14 was one of his kid’s birthday?

Ronaldo, Messi, Bryan Robson, Shearer?

Getting rid of Blunt and getting Sharp could be the key to promotion.
