If you don't have a Sky Sports subscription, yeah, as I understand it the day-rate for this would be a NowTV Day Pass at about £15 a day. I am not a Sky subscriber so I will have to consider my options here.

Not a clue if there is going to be any audio-only commentary any more.

It has been very badly communicated - no clear FAQs - the only info seems to be Sky's own pages which, surprise surprise, are a bit bias towards how wonderful the Sky offering is and a huge assumption that we are all already Sky subscribers, so this is a fabulous deal as it's all no extra charge. Hmmmmm.

I also have mate who has one of those thingys and can confirm that they show all of the EFL games. You need to have a fast internet connection and even then the commentary and video can be a little bit behind the one on Iplayer, so I am told, because I don't have one myself as it's illegal.

Just a word of warning that if you’re planning to do something illegal it probably isn’t the best idea to admit you’re going to do it on a public forum..

I can't sit for 2 hours to watch a match at the stadium. I would happily pay the club a tenner a match to watch every home and away match. The situation is ludicrous in this day and age. I have NordVPN but not sure if I can get away with paying £180 for the international service with a UK card. Probably end up just watching the comments all season on the BBC or Twitter.

Those of us who are hundreds of miles away are worse off than foreign residents. I’d happily pay more than £10 a match - indeed, how would clubs lose if you paid the equivalent of a top price season ticket to stream all the matches. The only argument I can think of is that more than one member of the family would be able to watch.

It’s a well worn argument, but even in advancing years, if I was living only an hour or so away from Doncaster, I’d be there every week.

I have an Amazon firestick and a Now TV Sky Sports subscription. Now TV is a platform that shows Sky but you can purchase a rolling contract (or even a single day) and don’t need a Sky box. As far as I’m aware that’s the only way to watch on an Amazon firestick.

There are also illegal sticks available (the dodgibox) where essentially you can watch anything that has a camera on it. If it’s streamed somewhere in the world, it’ll be on there, so everything that was on ifollow last year was and presumably the Saturday 3pm games we have this year will also be on there.

This doesn’t work on my parents sky box (it’s an older hd+box), the red button does nothing on sky sports+, been reading the sky forums and they say it’s due to the red button content being done via the app rather than satellite so will only work on newer boxes

If it helps anyone this is how I am getting in to the game tonight. It worked well on Saturday.

enter 501 on the remote. Sky Sports.

press the red button, which is found at the base of the remote control, left side.

It takes an age to engage with the list of games but it is straight forward.

and there was no charge, I have no doubt that will change.

It does seem to be quite complicated.
Especially for someone like me who hasn’t had Sky for about 15 years.
I was thinking of signing up again but have no idea which will be the best bet.
People speaking about NowTV being a good option too so I am bamboozled and don’t know which way to go.
Lots of people seemingly disgruntled too even though they know how to get the game on their screens.
If only iFollow was still an option, so much easier.

I’m watching on Sky sports + as I’m a Sky Sports subscriber. I have also paid the £45 to be Asubscriber to the Rovers App.

The app says listen now but nothing.  There is also no commentary on the Sky+ feed, so I wonder if there is a problem getting the commentary from the ground.

It’s 13 minutes and 0-0

Mines working great on Nowtv.
No freezing and can hear the crowd.

They’ve an offer on sky sports for 19.99 a month for 12 months and cancel anytime.
Put the nowtv app on the Tv or buy a now tv stick and create an account.

All of the games were showing on the home page.

As others have said - I think some folk are mixing up Sky Go and Sky Sports App.  You need to download the Sky Sports App, it’s not Sky Go for this... Once you have this log on with your Sky Log-in and then all the games are there - good quality picture also.

Still 1:0 Donny...

Its very weird these days when you dont get online service working properly if you've bought it legit.
Rovers+ Audio which I bought the annual pass for just getting nothing. Tried all the usual restart, clear cache etc and still nothing.
Is the commentary just not working for this game...?

IFollow was excellent, in 3 or 4 seasons I remember two hitches for overseasers
Rovers+, huge let down tonight, promising something and no delivery on video and only getting a lousy quality audio, all at game 2…great that we’re getting things right on the pitch in one and a half games though

Non subscriber would have to subscribe to Sky Sports and then would get all games on Sky or Sky Sports plus via the red button. My understanding is that Steve@dcfd is right. My understanding is that for UK residents the typical Saturday 3pm KO games will only be available to audio-stream via Rovers+. Only mid-week games will be watchable via Sky+ and our (20) weekend League matches selected for viewing will not clash with the 3pm KOs.

I remember having to wait until the results being read on the late ITV news at about half 10 to know how we’d got on in a midweek game.
Also
Listening to a very a crackley Radio Hallam or Sheffield when we had an evening fixture at Plainmoor. Knowing fans would’ve been able to fly to New York in the time it took a Leon coach to trundle back to Donny from the English Riviera

How times have changed indeed. When I moved away from Donny, Saturday games meant "follow the bouncing ball" on the videoprinter on Grandstand. For midweek games I couldn't wait for the following day's paper so I used to ring the sports desk at the Daily Mirror for the result. When I moved to New Zealand the results were in Monday morning's paper, and usually only the Premier League! I couldn't survive without knowing the Rovers result so I used to phone Belle Vue early Sunday morning, (NZ time) to find out the score. I'm sure they thought I was on the moon or something. Never thought I'd get updates on my watch! Technology, Wow.

I suggest you email Liam Hoden who is very helpful. Rovers+ was unresponsive initially for me yesterday and I got rather annoyed and just hit the button angrily half a dozen times and suddenly it came through. It could be my iPad screen getting dirty, but it might be a technical connection issue at the transmission end.

I know that as I am in the UK I can’t watch 3pm Saturday kick off games but did think I could listen to match commentary if I paid game by game, as was possible under the iFollow scheme.
Anyway, what is the email contact detail for Hoden please?

The subscription packages are quite clear on what you get and how much it costs;

It might help if I could get some information but when I go onto the DROS and log in to my account I then click on Rovers+ and get the following picture which tells me which is the next game but then I click on Buy Audio Pass I just get the screen showing the other picture.
Whatever I click on then, nothing happens.

I decided to try the Rovers+ thing today.
I logged into my DRFC account on the official site and clicked on the option to listen to commentary (as I obviously can’t watch a video stream as I am in the UK).
Nothing happened!
I tried several times but each time nothing happened.
I don’t think I did anything wrong.
Has anyone got any suggestions as to what I could have, or should have done please.

When I tried clicking on the commentary, I got the message 'You do not have a subscription for this' or summat like that. Which is fine cos I haven't paid for it. Have you?

No mate.
The details on the screen just reverted back to the start again.
Isn’t it possible then to pick and choose when you want to listen to the commentary or do I have to pay a monthly or annual subscription.

It just might be a software glitch. Sometimes pages stick, so either go back or refresh and it'll bring up the Subscription page.

I tried it by choosing the monthly pass, then it took me to a payment page where I it asks you for your card details.

Yep, that’s a good idea mate, I often do that but have to admit to forgetting to try it.
I will report back next time I want to give it a go.
