A typically British moan, I know but is anyone else actually getting a bit depressed due to the utterly shite weather we've had this year?
I believe it was quite hot and sunny in Yorkshire last week but I was in Cornwall where it was 16/17 degrees and overcast for most of the week so I'm not counting that.
Sitting here now it's blowing an absolute howling gale outside, it's rained at some point in just about every single day this year and looking at the long range forecast it's saying there'll be at least another 15 days of this piss-poor weather. It's seriously annoying me now and there's f**k-all I can do about it.
Yes, this is quite literally a "man shouts at clouds" rant but it's doing my head in!
-
It's been truly shite. One of the worst I can remember.
Now I have solar panels, I have data to back that up.
In May and June last year, our system produced 20+kWh on 25 separate days out of 61.
This year it's done in on 4 days over the same period.
-
It's a reasonable complaint Mike, took dog out at half 6 and had to get a jacket, in early July shouldn't be dressing like February.
-
I bought myself a TVR to use on dry days back in May. I've had it out of the garage once.
I bought a stone-chip repair kit for it, need to do the paint in the morning, let it dry then buff it up. I haven't even had the confidence that we'll have a few hours' dry and warm weather to do anything with it!
-
Got a couple of doors needing painting, but it's too wet - shame!
Feel like I'm jinxed with the weather. It even rained for a few days when I was in the UAE.

We went to Scotland on the day the heatwave hit Donny. It was around 13/14 degrees max over the 6 days we were up north, whilst it was around 23/24 degrees here in Donny.
The day we came back to Donny the heatwave ceased!

This is now 2 crap summers on the trot, but at least we had a hot spring last year, in May and June. Even they've been awful this year.
I've seen rainier summers in my time, but none as cold and dark as this. It's like a f*cking continuation of winter.
Strangely enough, my poor old mate who lives in Lesbos, and only recently lost his wife, has the entirely opposite problem. The temperatures there are between 38 and 45 degrees every day throughout summer. He simply can't come out of the house until the evening, as it's just too hot.
My problem is that I suffer from seasonal adjustment syndrome, and become depressed at the lack of blue sky and sunlight.
I wish I'd have buggered off to Australia as a young man.

I'm surprised you were given the option to stay here back in them days!

I blame Starmer...
-
We have been in South West France for nearly 3 weeks and have had 4 days of sunshine!
We flew to Corfu end of May and never have I seen cloud cover all the way until we got to the East coast of Italy. At least then we had 7 days of sun interspersed with light rain showers on a couple of days

pies, We're talking about terrible rain forecasts, not terrible reign forecasts.
-
Another week of rain has passed. Checking the long range forecast and it's...
2 more weeks of rain.
Utter bobbins.

Apologies for skiting but we just had over 6 wks in Europe inc uk and only had around days of drizzle, we bring the sunshine with us, had a great time.
-
And it's no better in N Spain and SW France. Just got back from 3 weeks over there and only had about 5days of sunny weather!
We went away in Sept last year and it was torrential at times and if we have had 3 weeks of dry weather since we've been lucky

a little Kookaburra bird told me you did a bit of canvassing in the uk apart from sleeping in a tent.
We need it to absolutely PI$$ it down on Sunday In Berlin with thunder and lightening etc to get every edge we can - it happened a couple of weeks ago so fingers crossed.

Cloud seeding is shit isn't it.

Just wait till global warming sinks the North Atlantic Conveyor (Gulf Stream), poss 5c colder in winter, wetter summers. Could happen v quickly like over a year or two, but no on knows when.

God forbid you have the weather we have had recently and currently dealing with in the Philippines. Back in April it was pushing 45/50 everyday with many towns having the water turned off. Currently a lot of the same towns have floods to second floor level. And for good measure last Tuesday we had a 7.0 earthquake for good measure. Yet everyone still smiles, jokes and just gets on with life.
