Title: Potential Tory Leadership Problem
Post by: tyke1962 on July 04, 2024, 09:55:51 pm
How are they going to submit 50 letters of no confidence to the 1922 committee with only 36 MP's ?

Funny post Tyke but as you know, Sunak will most likely quit and who can blame him.

Did I catch the BBC asking Steve Baker whether he'll be running to be leader despite projecting that he has a 1% chance of holding his seat?

I'm sure it's 15% of the number of Tory MPs so 130 Tories would mean just 18 to force a vote of no confidence

But he'll be gone , falling on Morduants sword no doubt. Off to California to reap the seeds he's been planting to screw us via the NHS as it implodes and people like in USA can't get into an Ambulance after a car crash without showing Private Insurance first

Shapps has got away with all his "stunts" throughout the years making it to Party Chairman after being sacked

So Jenrick for Tory Party Leader shouldn't surprise me should it

I can't think of a weasel of such stature , oh apart from Shapps-Green-Fox of course

The only realistic thing that can save the Tories IMO is Boris, I'm sure he'll be considering it.

They will take a shift to the right and go for Kemi Badenoch

She’s the bookie’s favourite

Does he need to be a MP to be leader?

Boris is actually quite a liberal Tory, that’s not the direction they’ll go in.

He got behind Brexit to advance his career

He is and I agree short term they probably won't go that way and will keep losing.

The only realistic thing that can save the Tories IMO is Boris, I'm sure he'll be considering it.

Does he need to be a MP to be leader?

Yes, he could easily make that happen in time, 5 years is a long time.

The tories need to rebuild from the ground up, clear out the old wood and refresh. Johnson is an albatross, too many lives lost, zero attention span, too self centred. 5 years imo is way too short the man was being openly booed towards the end.

Apparently not, I've read somewhere
