How do Uefa get away with it .
Wednesdays German referee was banned for 6 months due to match fixing and accepting a bribe. Ok nearly 20 years ago and "only " £250 but bang out of order

Odds on he books Jude!!!!

Unbelievable that this ref is still getting matches let alone a Euros semi final.

Totally agree

Might have a fiver on Jude being sent off
-
Being looked into and possibly a change of ref for the game.

One of my favourite jokes suits this.
Commentator shouts " 8 seconds gone and Bellingham is SENT OFF , for a second bookable offence"
-

Excellent if a change of ref is made, but how can he even be getting games.
-
What are they thinking.
-

If they don't change them .... well it says it all I believe the English FA have "declined to comment" which suggests to me they are telling Uefa what a bunch of tossers they are, not in those words but
-
Jude obviously slipped the ref £250 before this one! Dodgy pen, but I'll take it all day!

The whole country suddenly loves var.
How on earth.????
-
What a referee, absolutely brilliant ……

Why wasn’t it a pen.
Anywhere else on the pitch the ref gives a free kick so he has to give the pen.
The defender is showing his studs at knee height.
-
Totally agree hound
-
We’ve seen them given all over the pitch, but if it’s in the box, it’s a penalty. Simples. Shouldn’t have gone to VAR. No need.
-
Gone in with studs showing at a dangerous height, penalty for me.
-
Of course it's a penalty and yellow card, dangerous play.
-
I don’t know how Weghorst didn’t get a yellow for persistent fouling.
-
Just a word about the wonderful Kobbie Mainoo - is it because he has the No26 shirt?
Just saying!
-
It may be, Alan but he isn't that good yet.
-
If VAR are looking at it then why is it not a free kick for the handball by saka?
-

Had to laugh when he had Rice in an actual headlock at a corner. What did he think he was going to achieve with that?
-

Because it wasn’t handball
-
For all those bleating it wasn’t a penalty
Hand of God
Campbell’s disallowed goal against Portugal
Lampard’s 10 yard over the line goal
Beckhams red card
I think we’ve been on the wrong end of decisions more than we have been on the right end

Bang on Filo.
So many people only seem to be happy if we lose or don’t get some decisions going our way for a change.
-
Wasn’t a dodgy decision in my book. I was screaming at the TV before it even went to VAR!
-
If the tackle happens out side the area with say a defender clearing the ball and an attacker comes in and catches the players foot with stood showing it’s given as a foul. Therefore definitely a penalty
-
We can debate all day, look at the result in the paper we found a way, liked the way Kane stopped down so the Ref could have a look and could consider, no starting the game quickly, then jumps up and puts it away.
At last we are as cute as the others, and they don't like it do they.
-
They don’t like it up ‘em, Captain Manwairing.
Classic

The so called expert summarises I feel are to blame for most of the controversy, with sayings like there isn't enough in it for me when it is charge, shove in the back or holding and shirt pulling, and how long before a player has a serious eye injury with a hand across the face like Saka got yesterday, you get sent off at rugby League for an arm above the shoulder, why because it's dangerous.
I would have my strikers with Velcro's side split shirts, I wonder what the ref would do in the area when someone had half a shirt in his hand.

It’s football. We’ve all suffered from horrendous decisions.
Koeman said VAR is ruining the game and he does have a point. For example, Saka’s goal stands.
Can’t believe how much the Dutch are moaning about it though. There’s something in their mentality that snaps sometimes.
Did you see Xavi crying about England’s goal celebrations?
It’s all b*llocks.
England were the better team on the night. End of story.

If it was the other way round I'd be fuming and feel like we'd been robbed, especially with that ref! It's pretty soft, and since he didn't give it on the pitch I'm not sure it was clear and obvious enough for a monitor check. As it is, we got the rub of the green for a change and made the most of it! As Filo said we've been shafted enough times, so we can definitely enjoy this one.
-
TBH Reg, I think that many of the ones not given on the pitch are not clear and obvious.
Ones such as that awarded to Germany against the Danes.
-
By what Ive read there was some sort of rule change some months ago basically saying if either player could cause injury I can't remember and can't be bothered to look up Yes Kanes shot was away so the defender was late and studs up. So maybe presume the ref was advised to look at the monitor and also advised of the rule change at the same time we will never know this is where Rugby has a big advantage decisions are explained

‘Keepers have been getting away with challenges like that for years, especially in high challenges. Schmeical (snr) (spelling?) got away with it for years. I do remember Sulli conceding a penalty for similar though.
Players are often said to have committed a foul when they catch a player on their follow through, despite having got the ball first.
Therefore it’s a penalty - var helps where the play is too fast or view restricted for the officials.
Handball aside which is a minefield, my main issue with var is the time for decisions.
