See reports that Port Vale have enquired to Sheff Weds to sign the lad.

We all know that would be some signing for this league......

No, it just depends which way the wind is blowing when the chips are down he's the last man you want. Not McCann's style of player.

1) How many times has McCann signed him?

2) The biggest plate of chips we've had on the table in the past 10 years was the playoff match at Charlton. In injury time, which player beat his defender and put an exquisite cross across the face of the six yards box which would have put us in the final? And who repeated the act in injury time?

From memory, we were great that night. There’s little doubt that that type of occasion, with the whole team putting on a great display, is where Wilkes thrives.
A poor run of form in November is where Wilkes would disappear.
I’d still love to have him back, mind.

We could not afford him. He will be on Championship wages at Wednesday.
