Reffed us many times and last 3 times v Stanley
He is awful ( though I gave him a 3 once ). He let too much go and when people burst through and were dragged back ( Hurst Moly and Gibson *) no mandatory Yellows were flourished
We should remember he was the Ref at Chorley when Herbie suffered a break leg tackle in their Pen Area and Joyce showed a straight Red but inexplicably ( look back at it ) gave a Free kick outside the Box !!!
* Gibson beat 2 players in one stride then was clear but got dragged back
Time wasting was allowed by Joyce , including several kicks of the ball past the man intending to take a throw
Anyway NIL for me

A great watch but the Tackle comes around 2 minutes. The last replay is definitive one
Joyce rushed in and did the straight Red first but surely he has to award the Penalty first ?
Anyway Herbie was lucky to get away with that and scored his wonder goal later
Joyce 0 then and yesterday

How the officials missed out goalie being dragged to the ground by his collar - after he had caught the ball - is beyond comprehension..

He missed so much, didn't stop Accrington's niggly fouls. Got the major stuff right, just needs to be more on top of the shithousery.

The rule which states that the linesman doesn’t flag until the offside player becomes active needs changing.
There was a through ball by Accy and the striker was clearly miles offside but kept on chasing the ball.
TSL ran out of his area and cleared the ball a fraction of a second before there would have been a full on 50/50 tackle.
One of the players could have been seriously injured.
If the linesman flags as soon as it is obvious that the forward is offside the threat of an accident can be avoided.

I agree with this. A serious injury could have occurred in this instance.
I’m not sure what the law is relating to this nowadays as I can’t keep up with law changes anymore.
Clearly there is an opportunity to review close offside decisions when VAR is involved, but we don’t have that luxury at Rovers.
In this instance, the striker was clearly ‘active’ in chasing after the ball at full speed and that should have been sufficient for the AR to flag him offside far earlier than he did.

That was my thought he clearly was active by being the only one chasing it full pelt. Lino should have flagged much earlier stupid rule

Snap. Said the same as it happened. It’s a bad injury waiting to happen. As soon as an offside player is interfering, flag goes up. Simples.

Also blew for HT as we were on a quick attack - thought they were supposed to blow when it’s a neutral opportunity? Full time we had just been given a corner, but in that case the ball was dead so no issue there. Might have been different had we been 0-1 down.!
