Excellent and honest, as usual.

But the thing that stood out for me was him drawing the parallel to this time last year and the impending visit to Newport County. There will be no repeat this weekend if that performance last year, rest easy.

Grant McCann's a diamond, but unlike the Bond film title suggests diamonds are not forever, unfortunately.

That’s really soured my bed time cuppa!

A glass of whisky is more accommodating and reflective.
That's life I'm afraid.

He’s on a mission, that’s for sure.
We owe Newport big time and I hope we really click against them.

Watched the Newport game last year on holiday and it was depressing. It was pretty much the end of Sotona already in his time with us.
But we looked a group of individuals then, now we look a team. A point would be a decent result but no doubt we want the win.
There's not much to grumble about this season so far, we feel to me back to how we felt in the SOD days. Forward thinking and with a confidence that we know we're heading the right way.

I’m sure we will have some off days, either as a team or individuals. Hopefully they will be the exception, but let’s not think it’s the end of the world when it happens..
I read a comment after last nights game that we had just beaten two poor sides, well maybe we made them look poor.?

I can see both sides of this sentiment. One thing I do agree with is that we should never form any opinions after a 'sample' of two games. We don't know whether the teams we have played are going to prove to be strong or weak. Newport could be more of a test and a better indicator.
Yes, we made both teams look poor, but I see Accrington also got beaten 3-0 by Tranmere last night, so they have not had the best of starts. Both our wins have been against teams who lost their other game.
I'm not intending to say anything negative, just that it's too early and sample sizes are too small to draw definite conclusions. But undoubtedly we have started well, look good and should have confidence in the team.

It's a good point. Early days in the season but we seem to have harmony and unity across the club for the first time in a long time. How often can we say that has been the case since the SOD days - the promotion season under Ferguson, and the first McCann spell maybe? Even then, I don't think everything was as aligned as it seems to be now.
Well done to Terry Bramall, Gavin Baldwin, Grant and his staff, and the players. They deserve a lot of credit for this, and there seems to be a quiet confidence about the place now. Long may it continue and hopefully it results in a promotion this season.
