Actor Paul Nicholas was a vocalist and pianist for Screaming Lord Sutch and the Savages.
He was called Paul Dean back then.

A mate of mine took his missus to see Take That. Not his thing but he tells me it's the most entertaining live music show he's ever seen.
Anyway, the kinds of music acts I tend to see probably aren't that dedicated to putting on a show. It's more about the music.
Edit. Actually I do have an answer. It was probably Depeche Mode, they put on quite a show with huge video screens, lighting show, dancers, all the lot. Their big fans are a dedicated lot too, much of it was a huge sing along.
