Last chance to visit Goodison.

Me too, bustard!!
-
Good draw, looking forward to visiting Goodison again
-
That’s what I ordered! Marvellous. We can win it too.
-
Good test for GM and our lads.
-
Revenge!
For last season and 1985 was it??
-
Shit draw been there before wanted sumwhere new……oh bugger there wasn’t anywhere
-
No train for me to get back to Tring and a 4 hour drive is just too much.
TV for me it is sadly
But, drive to Eco-Power and maybe grab a seat on one of Paul's coaches ?
-
Hang on -when do we play Port Vale?

Some nice hotels in Liverpool, a good night out as well.
-
I’m away too, gutted. Can’t believe the game is so quick I thought it would at least be in September
-
Average gate 38k nice
-
Looking forward to hearing Ian Snodin again.

Not ! What an absolute knob he was last time !

I'm curious, Alan. Why have you asked about Port Vale?
-
Will we sell out? And how bigs away end?
-
Average gate 38k nice
Will Rovers collect a good percentage of the Gate money?
Hope so.
I’m also expecting us to break our Quarter Final record and get to the Semis.
Was at Spurs and The Arsenal game at BV, so it’s time we went one better.
-
BBC could be guessing but they have it down as Tuesday 27 August.
-
Google says 27th for all 2nd fixtures and kick off time TBD,but some will move for TV surely
-
Good chance this will be picked to be televised I’d imagine

Why? isn't the second round always in August?

3k although rules state we should get a minimum of 10% of capacity which would be 3900
-

Doubt it if we were the home team it probably would have

Yep, I don’t think us at Goodson will be seen by the bbc as a potential for a shock result.
-

It will be on TV anyway, via the red button

I thought the Carabao cup games weren’t included in the sky package.

Not for overseas viewers as I understand it
-
Dave,
I have checked it and you are right.

I’m getting my fixtures mixed up. I thought they’d brought the PV game forward to Thursday, but I think it was the Harrogate game they moved! But, if the Everton fixture moves to Wednesday, it still doesn’t give much time for recovery to the early kick off on the Saturday! Personally, I’d rather we concentrate on getting 3 points away at one of our potential rivals for the top 3 spots.

None of the League Cup games are on the BBC - when we were on last season it was Sky.
All games will be on Sky+ (like the first round games were), but some will be on the main channels. Don’t think any of the League Two vs PL teams are particularly appealing so we might be in with a shot, but they’ll almost certainly go with Forest-Newcastle. Not sure whether being the main televised game would earn us any more money, though, or whether the new overall package covers it.
-
Good draw.
An opportunity to visit Goodison Park again before it goes .Was there in 1985.
Should be a good pay day for us.

Yeah, fair enough, I should have written Sky, not BBC.

I wonder if the locals have progressed from throwing house bricks at the away fans
-
You'd expect so. FV was its very worse in the mid 80's.
-
What an afternoon that was at Everton.
Incredible support.
A sobering thought but I wonder how many are left from that alleged 9,000
-
Me and rest of the Askern lads had a minibus to the match, i ended up covered in grease from climbing onto the railings behind the goal to get out of the crush.

One here, a 22 year old at the time, now a 61 year old lol!
That sunken away end was weird

They will be about 65 now so hopefully won't reach the Coaches now

Just 21 at the time, managed to stand on a narrow ledge of the stand above that sunken terrace at about head height. Everton had some team then, and they had a Sharp!
-
Must have been 100s of us lined up on that ledge, clinging on for dear life. It was nuts and can you imagine what it would have been like if we had scored?

-
I was there too. Clinging on to my Dad for dear life! Was I frightened? Hell yes. Would I have missed it? Not a chance !
-
I was there as a 20 yr old, with my 17 yr old brother.
This time around we will be 60 and 57, and have my 16 yr old Grandson in tow.
