Thank you for that, I had to log out and start again to get anything, Rovers can't be bothered to tell me that.

Many of us predicted it would be a shit show this season, new provider and no testing of the service pre season for us. No app, no commentary all with significant price increase.

Dreadful commentary too. Sounded like Cannon and Ball. (OK I'm getting old).

Cameraman was sat on the moon and how many times do we have to suffer replays when play is continuing at a crucial moment ie corners!!

Right, for those who were listening etc.
Please bear with as I don’t do technology….
The commentary was today to be provided by Radio Sheffield in the form of our own Tom Biltcliffe. For some reason the link to RS didn’t work. Rovers immediately contacted the providers. They couldn’t get the link working & they in turn tried to get “ neutral “ comms. This wasn’t achievable & only Morecambes coverage was available. On my way home I was phoned by a very good friend who described the commentary as “ garbage”. It’s not for me to apologise, hence I won’t. I’m simply relaying the facts as I have them. Keep smiling. RTID.

Annoying commentary yes. Claiming to be unbiased whilst making a totally biased analysis of the Flemming yellow card. It.was a stone wall red ! Dogso boxes all ticked !
I wish I had a pound for every football pundit who has better knowledge and capacity for making decisions on the pitch in real time than the referee.

Yes. all you could say was that at least the Shrimpers commentators had learnt the names of the Rovers players, which is not always the case. With just  a sound commentary you probably get a more objective view of your own team's performance that way.
But fundamentally they should b
compensate subscribers for the lack of service for the 4th game running!

Either zoomed all the way out or in really close so you can't see anything but the man with the ball.
Had 5 minutes of black screen just before half time.
Disappointing, turned the sound off rather than away commentators.

Will the Everton game be shown on Rovers+ ? Is it live on any UK tv channels? Any info would be great.

Pretty sure it’s not on Rovers+. It’s on Sky+ or available on NowTv with a day pass for watching in the Uk. Someone had an alternative link for the previous round against Salford so this might be an option for tomorrows game.

Sick of moaning about the commentary on rovers +. Like Norman collier at his worst!! Barely audible - at least we’re winning but this is unacceptable for a paid service. I know it’s not rover’s fault but this is just not good enough!!

Remember, nobody asked for this. Foisted on us all without any consultation or agreement. We are made to pay more, for an inferior service and lots of disruption to normal travel plans for games. Bad deal!

Audio was even worse today. Garbled on and off for at least two thirds of the game. AND the background/crowd noise overwhelmed the commentary all of the time. Been problems with it every single game so far. The video stream froze and went pixilated on a number of occasions too. Shocking service.

The commentary was not audible at times during the game and the picture temporarily goes grey at times. I just don't get why Rovers have these problems and other clubs don't.

Audio awful today.
Picture on the whole very good, but did grey out. I just exited and clicked on watch again and that seemed to clear it.

Because someone at the club thought going it alone was a smart idea! But did they think it through? Hoden is struggling against the tide it seems. This is a major service for exiled fans particularly, and the club’s management probably didn’t monitor the development and roll-out.

Hoden, who seems to working all hours himself, tells us that one of the problems is that they are short-staffed and perhaps, without in-house specialists to liaise with the developers it would have been more sensible to take the off-the-peg offer with the EFL managing the installation.

At various times there's been a volunteer who's done the commentary. If its a staffing issue, I'm sure they can find someone to do it (free ticket) and this would free up Hoden for other tasks, like testing the equipment before they go on. It still looks to me like they've got faulty equiptment that's never fully been replaced.

Disappointed with the audio and image dropping out.
Its also poor that we don't have a rewind option like we did on iFollow.

Not only re-wind, but rewind with half and quarter speed options I seem to remember. And where are the Extended highlights? At the end and at half time in today’s match they put up some highlights which must have been capable of being quickly composed by the operational staff, so it can’t be too much of a technical challenge, can it?

Possibly my final observation on this subject for the time being; … I’ve noticed on the Sky “Red button” coverage of the US Open Tennis which provides a choice of multiple matches happening simultaneously, that there is a fair amount of buffering which is frustrating but perhaps not our biggest complaint

I seem to remember that “volumetrics” used to be a subject which came up when developing systems and way back when I was working, this meant that the technology’s processing capacity could not cope with more-than-expected data and everything would just fall over. This suggests that buffering is because Sky systems don’t always have enough capacity to cope with the data volume, but at least the feed is not lost completely.

But given their resources, it’s not really excusable in tennis or football. So it’s their contractual issue with the EFL.

I’ve not had any buffering at all on Sky+ red button, my internet speed is 900mbps

So, perhaps (without full fibre) it could be my internet speed which is only 17mb/sec, yet it is not usually a problem with videos or previously with iFollow.

Not sure if this might help, but you could try to switch on the game as soon as it starts to stream, then pause it for 5 minutes and allow the buffer to fill up. Then watch it, hopefully uninterrupted, but 5 minutes behind.

It shouldn't be an issue tonight because the game seems to be broadcast on sky+ rather than streamed. I have it set to be recorded in the normal way.

Still learning about this red button malarkey.
