Title: Old Programmes
Post by: keyser_soze on August 27, 2024, 01:42:40 pm
Clearing the loft out and i have a load of old programmes from the 90's onwards. Seems a shame to chuck them in the recycling.

Is there anywhere I can donate them to, or if anyone wants any in particular to complete a collection happy to send them out for a small charge to cover postage/packing?

The supporters club sell them to collectors I donated to them Wolfie, they have an office in the corridor of the youth academy, or did have.

They do still have that mate, I was in there a couple of weeks ago talking with Jan Budz.

I wonder if that’s an Omen, Jan Budz getting a mention on the eve of a league cup match against a premiership side…

I've got quite a pile dating back to the 70's. Not all Rovers either.  Since my Mum died I don't get back to Doncaster. If there's anyone in the SW who does go back home and is willing to take them, I'll get in touch with the SC and donate them. No idea of values but I suspect they there might be a few worth having. Liverpool v Rovers in 1974 (or was it 73?) is in there I think for example.

My son has a couple of hundred at least in two large suitcases under his bed, a lot from away games from the conference years. I’d love to get rid of em but he wont hear of it.

Mine are all at my parents house and its them that want rid. I'm happy to keep them, but not enough to fill my own home with them! (i'm 47 :D)

73/4 so in January it would have been Round 3 of course and early Jan. Cant be bothered to look it up. However we lost 2-0 , took thousands and it was a great day out

Tommy Smith injured himself trying to crock Pancho Regan (not the Forum one I dont think)

2nd pedantry alert of the day, Wolfie.

1969 lost 0-2.

1974 drew 2-2.

Yeah ... 68/9 and 73/4 .Forever in my memory bank

Finding lately I churn em out without checking

Were we top in 68/9 and they were top as well

I know they were top in 73/4 and we were 92nd ... We played in African Violet and the 2 goals we scored were the last goals they conceded on way to winning FA Cup
