There is excuses if your on holiday
-
Or don't want to go.

OK, rather than starting an argument about no excuses or there are excuses, can we not just drum up support for this one?
It's a massive away end with pretty much as many tickets as we want, there aren't too many away days like this one in league two so text/call your mates, brothers, sisters, the father in law or who ever.
Get the big flags out and bring your voices for GM and the lads.
-
That good stuff Nudga suggests, plus Wins v Gillingham and Harrogate (surely we have to beat them eventually) could make for quite a following and some day out.
-
Well I haven't been to an away match since Rotherham a couple of years back (carnage) apart from Rotherham for this pre seasons friendly, which I'm not counting, and it's wet my appetite. Will see what the troops think. A ground I've never done, albeit a plastic one that shouldn't exist.
-
And as grounds go it’s pretty decent view and plenty of leg room for us big uns
-
This team shouldn't exist and nobody should give them a minute of their time , we all know that they 'stole' their place in the football pyramid and by going to their stadium we are condoning that action.
-

we are not we’re giving our time to donny other wise I’m sure none of us would be going

Sheff utd turned it into a home match. The scenes were amazing.

What a ridiculous statement.
Why not look at it another way and by going you may get to see your team beat a team that you don’t agree with being in the football league.
-

Apologies but I can't miss my son's birthday party.
On MK, at what point do we normalise them. A lot of the fans there now will have been born after they moved and are supporting their local team and that's better than someone from MK supporting Spurs isn't it?
-

Talk about cutting our noses off to spite our faces.
While we're at it, let's not watch a single Rovers away game on Sky, because once upon a time it was owned by Rupert Murdoch.
Or better still, let's not support Rovers at all because the owner has donated money in the past to the Tory Party.
-
Talk about living in the past!
They are now a club in their own right with promotions and relegations, as are AFC Wimbledon now back at a vastly improved Plough Lane.
-
AFC Wimbledon are not the same club as Wimbledon FC
-
Just looking at trains for this one. £200 return!
-

What a stupid statement.
So it would be better for donny to run out and see that fans havent bothered to come and support them

I don’t think anyone can have a gripe with MK folks watching their local team - it’s not their fault how their club came to be..
-
Padded seats too lol
I think if we have enough interest they will split our fans up to lessen the advantage
-
Just looking at trains for this one. £200 return!
What a country we live in
-
For the best timed trains (arriving around 2pm to get a pint before, and leaving around 5.30pm to allow for added time) it’s way less. £120 return.
-
Get a Donny to London return and London to Milton Keynes return can do it below £100.
If your too old for a railcard and going with a mate get a two together card it's £15 each you will get a 1/3 off straight away on the prices and you've got it for 12 months.
-
We went last season to "tick it off" Pleasantly surprised by the whole set up. Don't think we'll make it this time but good to see them using initiatives that help local fans and us away fans
-
Didn't arsenal relocate.
-
Didn't arsenal relocate.
Yes, still within London. Had the original Wimbledon FC remained the same entity but just played in MK, the issue would be different.
I’m torn on this one. I am very much against how MK franchises a FL place and haven’t considered going in the intervening 20 years.
However, I support Doncaster Rovers and if I go it’s to watch MY team. Plus it’s about an hour away for us, irrespective of the ticket price.
-
I’m going this time. Never been before. I’ve never been to MK at all apart from passing through on a train.
They will be unpopular for a long time I suspect. But it’s time to accept them, wish them well developing their club and move on. On 2 conditions:
1. Franchise moves of football clubs never happens again.
2. They remove ‘Dons’ from their name. That belongs to Wimbledon fans in English football (Aberdeen in Scotland and our own Dons in rugby league).
-
AFC Wimbledon are not the same club as Wimbledon FC
No,but they are/was both based in Wimbledon and both earned their league places through hard work and promotion,MK Dons did'nt,they bought it.
As regards pricing, thats great and Im getting on the blower soon and hopefully a few of us will be going to this now that was'nt up to now.

200 quid has almost paid for our match day and a stopover in London on Saturday nite ..
-
Despite the obvious issues surrounding mk and their short history, it is one of the best away days ground wise imho. Comfy seats. Great view. Nice concourse. Easy to get to. Quite literally as many tickets as you can sell. What is not to like. And at £12 a ticket its a cheap day out.
Lots of comments about train fares. Surely supporters coach for this one is a no brainer?
-

Someone's got to pay the union boys and their second homes
70 tickets left, come on folks let's get this a sell out

Yep, opened up another block with just over three hundred tickets.
-
Any chance of this making general sale
-
We have only sold just over half given to us and the away end is massive the club just need to request more if this batch sells out
-
Could some one point me in the right direction for how I book a seat on the coach

Could some one point me in the right direction for how I book a seat on the coach
Contact Paul Mayfield, Retford rover on here.
-
Bought my 3 today. According to Paul, there'll be plenty of coach places available.
Job's a good 'un.
-
Does anyone know what blocks have been sold so far? Mk have been splitting away support into two areas previously.
-
Bought 2 tickets today .only ones available were In the lower tier below the previously sold blocks .
-
Bought my 2 earlier
-
Booked in a carpark £3.30 1pm-6pm 5 minute walk away £10 at the ground I think to park
-
Get there early enough and there's an industrial estate you can park on about 10 minutes away.
-
have we sold out the initial allocation?
-
Being reported that Williamson has gone to Carlisle
-
Pretty disappointing how few we are taking to this one considering it’s £12 a ticket. Shows you just how much of a negative hit a single defeat has on attendances.
-
11 tickets left..

I don’t think the ticket prices make that much difference, it’s just a bonus this time. It’s the price of travel (driving or train) and the time commitment involved. Same as most away games that aren’t nearby.
-
Only 6 wheelchair tickets left wonder if we will get any more
-
Personally think it's a terrible away day. Middle of nowhere, 6k in a 35k stadium. Zero atmosphere. People getting excited about some sponge on a seat too at a football match. Give me Grimsby away in and old fashioned packed out ground any day.
-

Agreed, but still very disappointing how few we are taking in a season where we are supposed to be going for it.
-
I find it hard to be disappointed with how others choose to spend their Saturday afternoons and hard earned money, especially in the current climate.
I don't really understand why people are that arsed, if you're going to be there, surely that's the most important thing.

Utter madness to make a decision on a wednesday to not give away fans more tickets when the away end holds 7000
-
Surely pay on the day
-
maybe a lot of fans have principles and don't want anything to do with a 'franchaise' club that stole their place in the football league :chair:

What an arsehole. You go to support Donny. While you're there, you give MK some shit.

Down to 10 men should level the game a bit for MKD :scarf:
-
Anybody at home had the advantage of a replay for Clifton’s 2nd yellow because that looked an awful decision from where I am
-
[I think the players have forgotten how to pass to each other, Gibson had moly in acres of space but decided to go for a ridiculous shot
-
Anybody at home had the advantage of a replay for Clifton’s 2nd yellow because that looked an awful decision from where I am
Seen the replay, the first one was definitely a yellow, second was a harsh one, it wasn’t a ‘second yellow’ tackle for sure.

Not seen it yet but most refs are very reluctant to give a second yellow card to a player at any time during a game.
There was a match last week in which 14 different players were booked but no one ended up with two.
Ellis Harrison now sent off for a bad tackle on Bailey.
-
A good point gained for me that one the first half we were not at the races.
-
Thought Sbarra gave us more energy and option in midfield
-
Take a bow Big Tom, McGrath and especially Olowu. Superb.
-

It’s time Olowu got his place back! …from the start.
-
Had them on the ropes, another five mins and we’d have won that.
Yeboah for me is terrible, not sure why he starts instead of Hurst or means we lose Gibson. No control or finesse, keeps breaking down good moments for us.
Jay excellent as always, Olowu decent and got up the pitch, Sbarra lively when he came on and great goal from Tom. Don’t know if Bailey needs a bit of a break, I’m a huge fan but he’s not quite reaching the heights yet this season.
Decent point in the end, which would have been 3 with a few more mins.
-
As a CB Olowu fine, and his defensive work sat on the right today was good, however going forward he lacks the ability to overlap, when there was grass in front of him to drive forward always looked to play the pass to LM.
Sbarra had great energy, enjoyed watching him. Controversial opinion, but I haven’t seen a great deal from Bailey to guarantee him a place in the starting 11 at the minute.
-
Don’t trust Olowu one bit to consistently perform but, he’s played his way back into the team in my opinion. Gibson again showed he is garbage, Ironside god knows what’s happened to him and our full backs can’t defend.
-

I thought we’d gone and won it at the death with that bullet header ! Was it Mgrath ?
-
McGrath. Keeper knocked it on top bar and over I think.
-
I agree regarding Bailey, he had a decent pre season, but he seems to be piggy in the middle at the moment, he’s never in the action?
Molly has been off it for a couple of games too, he always gives 100% though, and did his bit defensively.
Gibson is a strange one, we don’t play through him, it all goes through Molly- we need to mix that up, Gibson has just as much ability.
Sahara and Olowu did impact the game in a positive way, and will be pushing for a start in the next game.
-

All over them after their sending off (which I thought was harsh as was ours). Tom in the middle of a back three with Olowu and McGrath starting attack after attack playing almost as attacking midfielders. Very strange but very effective. Never seen a game change as quickly as after their sending off. Momentum changed instantly. Ultimately a good point, especially in the circumstances.

His goal touch has definitely deserted him.
-
Did any of their players win an aerial dual in the entire game? Totally dominant.
-
Gibson living up to his 1 good game every 8 tag. Been utter garbage since Accrington at home. Yeboah is like a rabbit in the headlights. He tries though but not good enough.
Jumped too soon when I said we may have upgraded on Adelakun in Gibson.
-
We had a lot of adversity in the game but at the end I came away thinking we are a better team than them
-
We were definitely better than them today. Saying that, their manager walked out on them 24 hours ago. And they stole their club from someone else.
-
I was saying to my mates last night, it feels like it's going to take something like a sending off to galvanise the team and battle back for a draw or a win against the odds.
When I tuned in and saw we were down to 10 men after only 10 mins, I nearly choked, but then thought, this could be the one that gets us going.
Albeit, the numbers were levelled up but, we hung in there until that point, and then could have won it.
And, about time we made a set piece pay off and one of our centre halves scores. More of that please because we can't rely on open play goals all the time.
A great opportunity next week to really get going in front of a big crowd. We really want to see players making a claim for a shirt now, with less rotation unless it's forced.

I was saying to my brother after the game today that this turnaround result could really set our season alight. A point today was a great result against the odds.

Aerial dual? Is that the new term for "won a header"
-
BBC stats show that we won 32 aerial duals compared to 25 by MKD.
-
Aerial duals
Transition
High ptess
Low press
Any others?
What is a game of football about these days
-
Owen Bailey only won 1 header out of 7 that’s not like him at all
-

Thought MK’s chances dried up completely, and they looked totally deserted of ideas. Anderson simply palmed off the defender for an absolute bullet header into the net, whilst the keeper appeared stuck in quicksand. The sending off for them was a bit a Karma(L).
-

Might be on to something with a back 3 you know. Bailey and Senior can play in one too for options.
That's the second time that GM has reverted to a back 3 in the 2nd half and completely put us in a dominant position. He did it against Barrow.
I'd be happy to see us start a game with that formation.
-
Not sure why some fans have it in for Close and Anderson, not world-class, but will get you promotion in this league.
-
I thought after the early sending off that we were going to spend the rest of the match in the deep stuff.
That the lads stuck to it and pulled it around is great credit to them and GM, Close and Bailey looked like they had a hard time getting into the tempo of the game but stuck to it, Close i thought was going to get blown away after the sending off but again praise to him sticking to it and battling through, games will improve him and he wont be playing against these odds every week. Bailey looks like he needs a rest and a reset.
We finished the match strongly after the useless ref evened up the teams with the second sending off and on another day we would of took 3 points from a game that looked beyond us at half time.
One for experience and we move on, this should be the wakeup we needed.
Expect a different level from the team next timeout.
-
I'm putting my neck on the line here after never being wrong before.
I predict the Chesterfield game will be that Mansfield moment.
-
Aye BB. The question will be whether we can win the duel inspired by this dual circumstance..... :)

He used that formation quite a lot at Hull. It’s a system he likes. To get two strikers on the pitch it’s probably the best option.

Yeah then you could have Molyneux playing off Sharp or Ironside in a front 2.
Emmanuel a good wing back option.
-
Got to admit after the sending off I said it’s not a game for Ben Close now, however thought he was excellent.
Not getting the Bailey criticism he’s doing the things that don’t get credit
-

I think we'd all love a 'Mansfeld moment. Do you mean the away game in February? There's a chance by them both teams could be up there by then so, going to our nearest rival and beating them in their own back yard, meaning promotion is pretty much a certainty, could be the next best thing.
-
Chesterfield has sold out their 3000 allocation for next Saturday. Even if there are no additional fans for Rovers at what is a big game, we are looking at a 10k plus crowd.
