Whilst watching the Huddersfield match the other night I couldn’t believe the bile the bloke behind me was coming out with. He was slating Jack Senior every time he touched the ball. Now to me Jack had a steady game in my opinion. Nothing spectacular but steady 7 out of 10, plus I don’t remember many times their wing man getting the better of him. Plus in addition to his defensive duties he got forward quite a bit and had a shot at goal from memory. It was also his surging run into the box than won the penalty.
Isn’t it frustrating to have a bloody big gob sat right behind you having a go at one of our own players. Plus another thing I’ve realised in watching DRFC over forty years is the biggest mouths are usually put on those least equipped to effectively use them.

He is just one of those types who have a player that they like to pick on.
The people behind me in the South Stand don’t rate Olowu and are constantly having a go at him.

Probably the same knob who was sat at the side of me for the Crewe semi final home leg , slating Tommy Rowe for everything I think some fans have a mental problem before a ball is kicked they have there scapegoat in mind for the season

Generally I find when they haven't fulfilled lives themselves and have low self esteem they do this.
It's a pity really.

We all have players that we like and others that we aren’t so keen on. Some fans just believe that their opinions are right, despite the opinions of team members, coaching staff and the manager having a different opinion and far more I’ ve witnessed this since the late 50s and don’t expect to see it change. With season tickets you tend to sit near people that you can’t escape by simply moving along the terrace a few yards.

Suffering from an overactive Masturbatory gland!

Some folks would fall into a barrel of tits, and come out sucking their thumb..

There is always someone who has to let everyone else know his opinion.... however as it was a low gate, there was always the option to move maybe...?

Don't worry it's his dad, very competitive

Cant be as bad as Jonathan in the West stand. Shouting the ref should be ashamed to be alive..

…and before that and I imagine for ever. If you pay to watch anything then conventionally you are entitled to comment on the quality of the offering. In some ways individual comments shouted at players or the team in general can be witty and enrich the experience. I think there were more before the emergence of singing in the last 40 or so years. West Ham’s Bubbles is possibly the oldest well known “anthem” recorded as going back to at least 1940 and (considering its origins) believed to go back 100 years.

We've sat all around the ground over the years and you get pockets of the same people everywhere.
My issue with it is once certain people have made an opinion about a player, that's it. I imagine with the guy the OP is talking about, Senior could score three, set two up and do a goal saving block in a 7-0 win and he'd not be able to bring himself to praise the lad.
On the same lines as the post above, we used to sit in the South Stand in 18/19 and there was one guy who absolutely hated Malik Wilks. One day, (bearing in mind Wilks scored and assisted I think) he comes out with "Wilks is s**t. Look at him. All he does is get the ball, run forward and shoot" - I mean, wasn't that his job?!

It's not a new thing. I used to stand near a bloke at Belle Vue who had an obsessive hatred of Nick Fenton, never heard anything like it. Once ran down the main stand steps to pitchside and screamed that he should be "deported to Frickley", which I have to admit is very funny.

one near me last home game still skates molyneux when ever he does anything wrong even said he would be the 1st player to get out of the club if he was manager lol

I didn't know his name but surely no one takes his rants too seriously? We're a bit further along the stand but he always makes us smile with his insights
-
I hear him most matches, those around me tend to just ignore him, like we do with a fella who rants and rave’s who close to the press box

To be fair Tommy while a great servant for the club was a passenger in the last 12 months for us
