Rovers on x suggesting something, a dark figure pointing to the badge
-
Ro-Shaun Williams still available.
-
It’s Josh Emmanuel. Ex Hull.
-
Good option for cover with the defence injury we are having at the minute
-
McCann signed him and managed him at Hull City.
-
Confirmed - Josh Emanuel ! https://www.doncasterroversfc.co.uk/news/2024/september/06/rovers-sign-josh-emmanuel-on-short-term-deal/

Full credit to all involved. We are certainly not standing still this season. The boss sees we could be without a player for a few weeks and so he goes and gets a replacement. Can’t fault it.
-
What a Chairman and CEO Grant has !
-
They keep backing him. Great stuff
-
Been linked to him for a couple of years now, it's a good low risk signing on paper. Potentially very good depending on his fitness. Still only 27, played a lot of football at a higher level as well.
I assume short term means until January?
-
As I placed my bet on us winning League 2 ( 11/1) I was factoring in the apparent determination of Terry Bramall to help Grant with any necessary reinforcements come January .I have not seen anything to change my thinking .
-
Was great at Grimsby season before lads. Dreadful at Carlisle last season in L1. Looks like a player that needs a home. High ceiling, on another planet to Sterry and Nixon at his best. Can we get the best out of him?
-
Do I assume he’s a right back?
-
You assume correctly.
-
TB is leaving nothing to chance this season is he? The concept of a “budget” disinterests him, incredible devotion.
-
Not seen a manager backed like this since the early SOD days.
-
Dickov had big finance provided in the January 2014 window - Sharp, Tamas, Méïté, Neill.
-
Yes he did, forgot about that.
-
Saunders in 2012/13 must have been backed well too. Admittedly some high earners also left, however the quality and experience of the majority of signings was impressive and wouldn't have come cheaply.
-
I think the key difference with any of those squads is the depth. I make it 25 players in the squad who you would call genuine squad players and wouldn’t bat an eyelid if they start, and that doesn’t include anyone out on loan or the youngsters. I doubt we’ve ever had that before.

This is correct. We had a huge budget that season of around £7m which I would imagine is about double our budget this season. It was also pretty much exactly the same as the budget we had the following season in the Championship.
-
Any period of success we have had has aligned with plenty of spending/ losses. This is the same with most clubs.
I think there’s potential to be smarter than that and have the capacity to punch above our weight properly. Not sure that would happen under this stewardship, which is fine as long as TB is prepared to keep spending his own cash to subsidise the costs.
-
This is another massive statement of intent.
Nothing less than auto promotion is the goal.
2 players for every position. Nixon out for 3/4 weeks so GM wants competition force Sterry. Goes and gets another right back.
There will never be any complacency in this squad.
As said TB is giving GM all the tools required to get promotion.
Brilliant to see.

Not much comment from the Netto lot lately
-
They embarrassed themselves on multiple occasions and approached the problem in exactly the wrong way - but they were ultimately right. If we spent, we would do better. We have spent and are doing better. McCann is not a cheap hire and would have wanted budget guarantees on joining. We are only where we are now because Terry decided to spend and move aside David Blunt who was a blocker on this.

They just targeted the wrong person
-
Pretty sure this guy played well as a wing back for Grimsby. Could be a good option for an in-game formation change.
-
They just targeted the wrong person which was totally out of order if their underlying concern was our club .
-
Emmanuel here for Grimsby (blue) wearing 7.
2 great assists.

It was not long ago when we were saying mediocre (being polite) players would be good squad players even though they couldn't come on and change the game.
How things have moved on!
