Title: The Red and White show
Post by: johnny rovers on September 08, 2024, 11:05:02 am
Are the club contracted to do this production inside a car? It's not really a show anymore, it's vlog filmed in a car. It would be much better from inside the stadium and hosted like a show, just like it was before. Personally, I think this production is a backwards step.

Seems that way being a promo for Stoneacre. On paper, it might have sounded a fresh idea involving players in a less formal setting, having a bit of fun and banter with the quizzes etc.

However, I agree, I think the content needs to be varied. Last seasons show was just a few clips with interviews very much in the 'cliched' style which I found boring.

I'm all for involving players in a more informal setting but there also needs to be some relevance to the previous match and the next match. There's generally some good footage from the 'Inside Rovers' vlogs, which could be used for this show.

It’s rubbish. Loads better when they had a guest on the couch with Robbie.

Even last season it was just a collection of the weeks social media videos so basically a replay of everything you’d already seen.

The media team have come on so much in recent years but this “show” could be so much better.

Instead of producing videos which perhaps don’t have too much appeal, let alone long term value, the media team could usefully review the new website against the old one. I haven’t studied it in detail, but when I have been there, it does not seem that logical to navigate yet seemingly with less data available.

One important section - player biographies - is not as useful as the old one - in fact it is not really much use at all since it does no more than provide names. Basic information - age, height or weight is not there. It has provision for all manner of playing stats, which might carry some interest, but they all show zero! It could well signify a system malfunction because you would expect that the fields would automatically be populated from some other data source, so what has gone wrong? Basic biographical data fields would surely have been something the club would specify as essential when the system was commissioned.
