With Lee Carsley managing the England full team, our former centre-back and bench warmer, Ben Futcher is managing the U21s.

With a striker as No. 2 at Newcastle how many more ex Rovers are in leadership positions at top level sides I wonder?

Maybe not leadership positions as such but quite a few ex Rovers players and staff work at PL level in some capacity.

Adam Henshall (former Rovers recruitment guy) now has a similar role at Aston Villa.

Gordon Greer is the Loan Manager for Brighton.

Gregg Blundell is U18 Physio for Liverpool.

Ryan Mason is on the first team coaching staff at Spurs and has been caretaker manager on a couple of occasions.

Simon Gillett is involved in scouting and recruitment at Chelsea, so he's been a busy bee lately.

Billy Paynter was appointed manager of Connah's Quay Nomads F.C. in Welsh top flight, last month.

Also, the walking red card Anthony Griffith is Assistant Manager at Congleton Town in the Northern Premier League Division One West. Article today about him also trying to become an elite referee. That would be something.
