.... closing in on Promo I hope
Looks like 2 games to go and hopefully weather wont stop them though they have played 1 more game than Middlesex who are 20 plus points behind but looking to beat Glamorgan on last day tomorrow
-
Hill 160 plus the last game and a 6 for in the second innings with the ball in the game just finished is in a rich vein of form.
Unfortunately the weather can make a very big difference with the southern based teams seaming to have a big advantage with better wickets throughout the season and bonus points for batting and bowling at stake.
-
Yahoo Middlesex lost and with 2 games to go trail YCCC by 15 Points
Should be too much for them now
-
Looks like going down to the wire.
Yorkshire, Sussex and Middlesex all well on top 4 sessions into the last matches.
-
Sussex and Middlesex have both won so now Yorkshire must not lose.
They've set Glamorgan 396 to win. Should be safe.
-
Rain showers forecast for Cardiff 1pm tomorrow.
Hopefully get into them after Tea and finish it tomorrow
Fall of wickets 0 for 1
20 for 2 after 6 overs
Now 24 over gone
-
94 for 5
Opener still there on 29 after 2 and half hours so we're among tail nut they dod well for last 2 wickets in first innings
-
120 for 6
Watching live on Youtube
-
Brilliant 3rd slip catch = 129 for 7
Opener still there but they may as well throw the bat now
-
Bad light with 2 overs left
-
No idea how batting and bowling points work, but Surely Yorkshire have got a few points, they only need 8 points to finish second
-

The table on the BBC site has bonus points already included. They need a draw to clinch promotion.
-
Here's a summary from Copilot.
Bonus points are awarded based on performances in the first 110 overs of each team’s first innings:
Batting Points
250 to 299 runs: 1 point
300 to 349 runs: 2 points
350 to 399 runs: 3 points
400 to 449 runs: 4 points
450 runs or more: 5 points
Bowling Points
3 to 5 wickets: 1 point
6 to 8 wickets: 2 points
9 to 10 wickets: 3 points
These points are retained regardless of the match result.
So by my reckoning Yorkshire earned thee batting points and three bowling points.
-
Yes it's 6 on Scoreboard so if that is already added on Table and they go on to win they would have 195 points to Middlesex 186
Draw last game without a ball being bowled would give Tykes 203 but that is only a difference of 17 and though Middlesex away at The Oval to League leaders Surrey it's 16 for a win and hard to see them not getting Bonus Points so Yorkshire maybe need to win or have a good haul of bonus points in a draw
I think lol
-
Edit
Just read the official YCCC site and it said ( short version ) ... If they take the last 3 wickets they would be 15 points ahead so I reckon that says Bonus Points for YCCC are not already showing on Table
So they could go into last game 23 points up and would be promoted even with a washout unless Middlesex won at Surrey AND got maximum Bonus Points .
-

It doesn’t have them added until the games finished.
-
That's what I thought , and hoped they didn't
-
Thunderstorms Cardiff "loosely" from 3 pm
Come on 3 wickets needed to make last game less critical I hope
-
Sorry folks I've totally lost the plot here. I thought this was the last game of the season.
And I was sure the points in the table on the BBC site changed after the first innings the other day, but happy to be wrong
-
By my maths once they've got this last wicket they'll be 15 points ahead in second place meaning that they only need a draw (with 3 bonus points) which would give them 11 points in the final game.
The max you can get in a game is 16 for the win 5 batting points and 3 bowling points so 24 points
-
Yorkshire win by 186 runs
-
Yeses 209 all out so 15 points clear
-
Last games started today , or more correctly didn't
Both Middlesex away at Sussex and YCCC at home to Northsnts washed out without a ball being bowled
Makes a draw more likely at Leeds and that suits Tykes
Middlesex HAVE to win and hope we lose which looks unlikely now
If we draw or it gets washed out Midds will need to win and get a Bstting Bonus Point to overtake us but that's extremely unlikely so we may be going up
-
Woo hoo . I shouldn't really want us to win by default but Day 2 Sussex v Middlesex washed out again
So Middlesex can't catch YCCC unless they beat the Champions Sussex in 2 days and include a First Innings of 400 plus
I dooooont think so
-
Delay in start at Sussex ... Even more difficult to see a Result there now especially as Middlesex have to get to 450 for the Bonus point that would tip it in their favour
I'm seeing YCCC leading by 15 points and they have opponents in trouble 139 for 9
Bonus points for Bowling will be 3 very soon for a lead of 17 points. If we only draw that would be 25 points lead
Middlesex have to therefore Win in less than 2 days and even scoring Maximum Bonus points they would be 1 point behind
So YCCC need only to avoid defeat now
-
Might be posting just for myself but Suss v Midd taking early Lunch 12pm with further inspection then
Tykes have bowled out Northants and now avoiding defeat is their aim and "we" are going up
-
Yorkshire promoted, Lancashire relegated, how sweet
-
Yorkshire showing off on last day
726 for 7 . Trying for 1000 ?

Yorkshire showing off on last day
767 for 7 . Trying for 1000 ?
Now declared with their second highest run total on record for a first team game
https://www.espncricinfo.com/records/team/team-highest-innings-totals/yorkshire-1515/first-class-matches-4
Which is just a little better than their lowest, a game that even Sir Geoff got a duck

57 for 2 already for Northants
Could we skittle them ? Unlikely

Sir Geoff got a pair of ducks.
It looks as though that game was heavily rain affected too.

And in 1970 uncovered pitches as well

Nice to see the Yorkshire pair piling on the runs in the latest test match v Pakistan.
-
……and good to see a Yorkshireman becoming Englands all time top run scorer.
-
And an ex Yorkshire player at the very top top top of the Charts
-
Brook and Root.
The highest scoring partnership in English cricket history.
And Brook now 300 and chssing Len Huttons record.
All 3 Yorkshiremen.
-
Just waiting for the four Yorkshiremen sketch now.
-
People think the 4 yorkshireman sketch comes from the Pythons.
It was first shown on ‘At last the 1948 show’ in 1968. I think Tim Brook-Taylor and Willie Rushton were 2 of them, along with John Cleese.
By the way hound I am a massive Python fan, every time I see the ‘Spot the Braincell’ sketch I think of you.
(Just a joke so dont get your knickers in a twist)

I won’t, I actually like that comeback.
If you are a Python fan though I am very surprised that you kicked off big time after my “how much for the full argument” comment a couple of days ago.
I can remember a a young lad, listening to the four Yorkshiremen sketch on the radio, back in the sixties I think.
I can’t remember who the comedians doing it were though.
-
Just looked it up hound, It was written by
John Cleese
Tim Brooke-Taylor
Graham Chapman
Barry Cryer
Marty Feldman
All 5 of them performed it, first in 1967.
Barry Cryer was the waiter.
