Title: TLT
Post by: Branton Rover on September 11, 2024, 08:35:28 pm
Just signed a new Hull City contract until 2028 so any hope of him joining us has vanished. Meaning we need a new permanent keeper next season assuming Jones and Lawlor won’t be here next term.

Bit early to be worrying about that. Let’s just enjoy this season first.

Doesn’t stop him coming back on loan!

But, I agree, we need a new permanent keeper.

Heard rumours he’s off Wrexham on loan to cover their injury crisis. I was hoping he’d be here in January or in the summer IF we went up.

Rumours are rumours. Let's see. Good signing in this league or L1.

GM won't be prioritising the keeper position in January. It's not an area of concern.

I think if there was a deal to be done for the right price (loan or permanent) TLT would be a priority in January, he’d gain us more points than a 3rd choice striker.

This is an extraordinary claim. How?

How many points has TSL cost us? We might debate the odd goal here and there but he's not to my memory conceded a goal with an error that cost us the points.

In other words, while we might regard TLT as a better keeper, he would cost a lot for very little gain when TSL is doing a very competent job.

Likely TLT is heading for better things and if he goes to Wrexham, it could be a really good move given the exposure he's likely to get.

For all of that to be true, it would mean TSL is a poor keeper; he isn't. It would mean TLT is world class; he isn't, he's just a very good reliable keeper.

It would also mean that GM is concerned about the keeper position; he isn't, otherwise he'd have replaced TSL with Lawlor for league games.

Ridiculous the amount people rate him by. He's good, but you'd think we've got a clown in the net the way people are obsessed with this guy.

We were absolutely foaming at the mouth over Keshi Anderson for ages despite him having done very little elsewhere.

TSL has improved. A very good keeper.

We still have issue though that come this summer as it stands we don’t have a keeper on the books.

TSL was good again today. Commanding.
There seems to be a lack of confidence in the team. Not sold on BS. Ironside should start over him. Senior and Broadbent to me were the only other players to come out with somewhat we  credit today.
For what we did second half of last season, we could do the opposite the second half of this season. To much changing the team every week.
