Just rewatched second.
Very poor that.
Backed off onto his line so made as much of the goal available as possible then when he decided to come off it to 6yrd box it wasn't even half hearted. Made goal big and himself small.
Young kid needs to learn quick.
-
Think the first one was the saveable one. Seemed to pull away at the last second. Think the second one was three players coming at him at pace and he had to stay really. He's usually very quick off his line.
-
Not convinced me, yet.
-
The 2nd to me looks like he was scared to get hurt. Hes young and will learn, but to be a top keeper you cant have them doubts, come out and block the ball and wipe out all 3 players in the process, even if 2 are your own.
I know its been banged on too much but TLT is streets ahead in that department
-
Not convinced me, yet.
I also have some concerns about his quality.

Nor me

Put it this way, I feel like everything he’s saved so far has been routine. Not sure he’s saved anything above and beyond what you’d expect any other GK to save. I’m not sure either goal should beat him last night, although maybe that’s a bit harsh on him with the first.
-
That second goal was a circus act. He was just one of a number of clowns at the show.
-
He's not very good is he, I think lawler is the better keeper.
Probably worth dropping and have him as cover
-
And so it continues……………
-
We're great at jumping on individual perceived mistakes and hanging the player out to dry aren't we.
1. The second goal was not TSL's fault.
2. Could he have done better? Possibly.
3. Is he scared. Well, he's come out in previous games and gathered the ball at players feet so that rules that out.
4. He comes off his line more than Lawlor, or Jones and is quite mobile around the box. He's also made some good catches to calm things down when we need it. Plus his kicking is quite good
5. Does he have weaknesses. Yes, he's a young lad and is learning. Lawlor is a bit long in the tooth now to be learning new tricks. I think Lawlor probably has a slightly quicker reaction time when having to make reaction saves.
Overall, TSL is still the better keeper for me.

Fair comments but regarding point 5. Our goalkeeper being young and still learning is not, im afraid what people want to hear.
The GK position has been a problem for years and most of us would like it addressed properly and permanently, not rely on other teams kids every year. Nothing against him personally and I actually think he's ok. But you cant give that as a reason as people are fed up of it.
The fact GK is being discussed again suggests it hasnt been properly addressed, again.
-
Both Lawlor and Jones should be on their way at the end of this season - hopefully.
The goalkeeping problem needs sorting - definately.

Agreed, it doesn't stop lawler being better than tsl though.

Just wishful thinking I'm afraid. Don't blame you though.
Tsl is going to cost us alot of points this season

TSL isn’t without his flaws and so far he’s hardly had much to do until Harrogate. But in his defence our problems are still going to be the four players playing in front of him . There has to be an understanding of you who goes where and when . Teams do their homework and recognise where our weaknesses are and protecting him has to be the back four’s responsibility. The goals we’ve conceded mostly came from errors made by defenders , from penalties or allowing players to being caught out of position. TSL will benefit from the back fours being consistent and effective .

I thought the 2nd goal deflected to his right while he was covering his left

It did. It might even have been our player who got the final touch when he slid in to try to make a tackle.

Here we are, Mr happy clapper keyboard warrior . Let's meet up and discuss this in person if you'd like. Perhaps before the next home game ?
I'll buy you a pint and give you the opportunity to say that to my face.

I've seen enough of him to know what will happen.
With TLT in goal on Tuesday. That match would have been 0-0
-
If Tom had had the presence of mind to leave the challenging between TLT and McGrath and continued on to cover the goal line he would have cleared it comfortably. Hindsight eh?

We tried to get a keeper from Palace who went to League 1.
Never mind TLT, you said “Lawler” is better so what would the score have been with him in goal?

Tom didn't have the pace to make the challenge, I'm sure he had no chance of getting back to clear off the line.
-
In hindsight would Olowu have got back in time?
-
Olowu would have won the ball yards away from our area with his pace
-
The horse had already bolted though. Once McGrath ventured forward, we didn't tuck in to close the gap he left, so as soon as the ball comes back from whence it came, their lad is free to run on goal.
Anderson is left in a wider position with too much ground to make up. Had he come inside straight away he's not giving the lad a head start. Basic stuff. We wouldn't leave a striker in the middle of the pitch for our corners would we.
-
Olowu has to start for me we are getting down for pace at the back.
Back onto TSL hopefully the GK coach will be having strong words as turning away is an unforgettable action as a goalkeeper, as a former keeper not professional obviously I was taught you take the man the ball hell take net out you do everything in your power to stop it going in
-
Not convinced me, yet.
Same

The ball rolled slowly to the goal. If Tom had focussed on running to cover the goal as the keeper was coming out to challenge he would have been able to clear the ball.

Just watched it again, no chance Tom's quick enough for that, Joe would have been quick enough to make the challenge though I reckon.
-
I felt all three were looking at each other. It looked like Anderson would catch him and I think that stopped the keeper from fully committing.
