What colour kit would you choose if you HAD to from our current red & white hoops?
I’d have to depart totally from red & white & go for the black & white striped shirt (each season could still offer a variation of the shirt i.e. a fading black stripe from top to bottom).
I’d plump for black shorts & black & white hooped socks.

You a geordie ?

Navy/Royal Blue with yellow crossbelts , white shorts, Navy/Royal Blue socks

Going from his user name I would suggest he was a Mackem!

To give a literal answer to a daft question, African violet and black obviously!

Green and white. As I've mentioned on here a few times, the club has connections to those colours, in different ways.

African violet and Black
-
All white, with red collar, cuffs.
Red socks

All white, with red collar, cuffs.
Red socks
Wasn't that similar to the 1969 kit? Laurie Mac was the manager.?

Thats the one
To add, club badge in centre of shirt, with black numbers on back.

Blue and gold. The original colours in 1879. And the reason why the Dons are blue and gold
-
Black shirt with white skull and crossbones, red shorts, white socks, rainbow laces and green eye patch. The captain carries a parrot on his left shoulder.
-
African Violet and black, every time.

Y'know, 3 out of 13 responses want the African Violet and black. For a kit that's over 50 years old that is some percentage. It sure made an impact that kit did.
How can we have it considered for a future second strip by them with the decision making power??? I think I'd break the habit of a lifetime and actually buy a shirt if that kit came back.

A few years back when fans could enter the kit design competition, I got into the final 5 going to a vote, with violet and black.
Didn’t win, obviously.!

My favourite kit was circa 1975/76. All red with white stripes down the sleeve and shorts. Memories of O'Callaghan, Kitchen and Miller. Away kit African violet and black. Not green and white hoops please. Did quite like the green shirts/white sleeves we had under Bremner for a while. I've seen some shockers - yellow shirts and brown shorts under Maurice Setters probably the worst but there's plenty of other contenders.

When I was a lad, Rovers played in a white shirt with red and blue edgings for a season. Basically an England kit. That was alright.
I prefer the hoops though.

I don't know why clubs resist giving supporters what they want.
I have a mate who is a big Leeds fan. What they have wanted for years was a yellow away kit and the return of the smiley badge. Leeds resisted it for years and years. Finally they've given way.
Rovers have a significant contingent who wants either a green and white away kit or a violet away kit. What do we never, ever get? It's like the marketing people are at war with their customers. It's just strange.

Does the club know about this huge groundswell of desire for a violet away kit?
I must admit I’m not aware of it.
Anyway the answer to the question in the thread is obviously green and white hoops.

I guess not. Though, Africa violet and black away kit is a common theme on this forum. Anyone who takes an interest would know it's a thing.

It was a belting kit. Be even better with today's design magic.

probably wouldn't be allowed to refer to it as 'african violet', mind...
