Very Quiet yesterday from the off. Was surprised.
Not just the players that weren't up for it
-
0v2 down and 10 men. There was little belief from anyone. Was over the minute he kicked the ball away. I think we'd have turned it around with 11 men.

I thought they were supposed to be hardcore tifosi?
That's precisely the situation where you back the team the loudest you can.
-
I too thought our fans were really quiet all game
-
Their fans were the loudest in a long time, shame our lads dosnt give enough for our lot to add to the atmosphere!
-
The atmosphere was crap, but I do get the impression many of the people that regularly complain about it don't do anything themselves to contribute and/or improve it.
-
They only sing when we’re winning
COYR
-
I get we were losing and playing poorly.
But even in the first 10 mins and just before kick off the atmosphere was the quietest I've heard for a while.
-
A lot of pur fans will pounce on a ref or linos bad decision and that's it; rest of game is winging at the ref. Second half v Harrogate was quiet as a mouse and we had almost half the ground. SUPPORT vs non support as per my post Everton match thread.
We could do with like minded people setting up an ultras group? Hate that word but you know what I mean. A group set up to bring the atmosphere back??

It’s a lot better than it was. I think when we are doing well it is very good but when we are not it’s pretty silent.
-
On its day its great. Crewe home great example. But whenever I say on here that European fans are better all I get back is "but it's coordinated"..... Boll**
Been to a Seria A game this weekends and it's non stop for 90 mins. It's called SUPPORT
-
After calming down for a couple of days, just watched the full match replay and sad to say, the support from our fans was appalling. Chesy fans were right sininging is this a library. There was nothing to indicate we're proud to be Donny fans, no trying to stir the team. Zilch.

I heard the chesterfield fans twice all game from the south stand. Just shows how poor the acoustics are at our ground. Partner was on the lake however said it sounded loud none stop. Wonder who decided to build the ground like this.
-
I thought the BB had gone bankrupt. Surely it is either a thing and they make themselves heard, or they disband the outfit..

There's nowt wrong with the acoustics. Having sat near the halfway line for many years, you get a fair balance.
I said on Saturday, our crowrds gone quiet after about 10 mins. We weren't playing badly so there was no excuse to go quiet.
The South Stand was set up to enable the 'away end' atmosphere and everyone who goes in there should be accepting the responsibility to sing, shout and clap but yes, there needs to be a lead from the drummer etc.

How can you say there's nothing wrong with it when Chesterfield fans can't be heard from the other end of the ground.
-
Just watched the game again and the Chelsie fans were very vocal for almost the entire 96 mins. Hardly a squeak heard from our fans.
Yes the players didn’t give our fans anything to shout about but we need the fans to help the players by being vocal. That’s called proper support. Really poor Saturday in every aspect in the stands and on the pitch.
-
I have always said that the drummer is the key to getting songs and chants started.
If he doesn’t stay active then generally the songs don’t start.
Thinking back, there was someone with a trumpet of some kind who was at a couple of games a few years ago and he really added to the atmosphere.

have to agree you tend to only hear away fans loudly straight after a goal when they all sing

Curern drummer is poor. Joins in with the chants rather than starts then. The lad who took the drum to Grimsby away is the best by far.
-
It is not just the crowd in the south stand that should be responsible for clapping and singing. All fans should.
Last night was a great effort by us in the south stand.
-
Much better last night.
-
Good last night. Despite the best efforts of the stewards / harry maguire wetting their knickers at people daring to stand up
-
There’s not many grounds where you can hear the away fans at the other end, unless that end is dead silent. I think moaning about the ‘lack of acoustics’ is just another excuse

Barrow (H) last season was awsome.

Stand outside the ground if we're ever 0v3 down again and hear the difference. Then say this.

If it's who I think it is, I think he's been given a ban.

Don't use it, but I meant the drummer, not the fella who posted about the fire. I knew who that was gonna be as soon as it came out.

Sorry, thought you meant the other tosser
