I see there is a behind closed doors game against Scunny today.... a chance to give Westbrooke and Maxwell a game.

Latest...
Both Zain Westbrooke and James Maxwell have played 75 minutes in the behind-closed-doors game against Scunthorpe United. Replaced for the final 15 minutes by Sam Straughan-Brown and Kasper Williams. Rovers still lead 1-0

Maxwell would be a very big boost. BF to return to Hull in January?
-
Final score 1 1
-
Slightly worrying Joe didn't score again
-
Also worrying if Hurst Yeboah and the middle three created chances for Joe to score or any other player this is not degrading Scunthorpe but did we create other chances

I would have thought that this side would have had enough to beat a Scunny side from NLN.

I don't think we can read too much into a friendly played behind closed doors. Nothing more than a training session to get minutes into the legs of fringe players and players returning from injury.
The intensity out there today will have been virtually zero.

Exactly. That was the objective of setting up the game, and unless McCann chooses to provide more detail about the game, we can't read anymore into it than that. Last thing we would want is a 'competive' match that risks further injuries.

Exactly. There would probably have been a "no tackling" instruction to both teams.
A shame Close didn't play, that would have been perfect for him.
;)

No point in playing the game with no tackling.
Football is a physical contact sport.
I am sure there would not have been a no tackling instruction given.
The score line is irrelevant. Mins into the legs in a proper 11v 11 game over 90 mins.

Close was playing according to reports. If you're suggesting Close doesn't tackle, have look at the MK Dons highlights and see who tackles Harrison before he clatters into Bailey.

Reminds me of a Welshman I used to play golf with. He used to say “The problem with golf is that you can’t tackle!”

It was a joke.
I thought the wink emoji might have given a hint.
