Forgive me if I’ve missed it on other posts/threads, but what the hell has happened to Adelakun? Once again, not on Salford’s team sheet.
-
Been missing for a month now?
-
He’s just injured what else would it be?

I'm just glad we made a offer and stuck to it and didn't over spend on a player I think wouldn't of had the same impact this season. As well as he did there was another 10 players who all contributed to that amazing run of form.
-
Not our player, not our problem !
-
If we had unlimited funds I'd have loved him here. Imagine him as another option to have.
-
If we had unlimited funds, we wouldn't have gone near him.
-
Starts tonight against Man City.
Jon Taylor on the bench.

Ooh, might sway me to watch it, trying to decide wether to watch that or Leeds Harrigate.
-
Quite a few Man United fans in the away end tonight I hear.
-
Considering they've sold 5000 tickets I think that's a given.
-
Fancy him to cause some problems against the City youngsters at the back.
I liked Kouassi when they played us too, surprised we didn’t go for him seems McCann’s type.

Salford getting murdered.
-
I can see why they’re on a bit of a run in L2, though. Some industrial challenges going in. Our midfield is powder puff by comparison.
Could do with a few injuries in this game, which may happen in second half when they’re blowing out of every orifice!

In the starting X1
-
Jon Taylor on as sub - interesting
-
was it Adelakun who received the pass from a free kick in the first half (late on) on the left and put the pass in where The Salford player couldn't miss but did ?
-
Harrogate are making a much better fist of it at Leeds.

Salford getting murdered.
we lost 8-0 to Crewe and after that I immediately said we would get back into the league and it's only 7-0 as I type
update
8-0
deja vu !! I will come back to this post at the end of the season

Yeah nice one
-
It wasn’t easy to see what Salford’s attacking plan was, but Adelukan was not in any sort of prominent role. Do they recognise and play to his strengths or have they tried and it has not worked?

it seems the answer was YES it must have been only 2-0 at the time !!
"Had Kylian Kouassi been able to turn Hakeeb Adelakun's excellent left-wing cross goalwards from a central position on the edge of the six-yard box, Salford would have halved Manchester City's lead and felt as though they still had hopes of a huge shock.
Instead, Kouassi stubbed the ball away from the net and within seconds O'Reilly was spearing his debut goal into the far corner at the other end of the pitch.
Those few seconds underlined the gulf in class that remains between a side struggling for form in the Premier League and one that has been winning matches for fun three tiers below."
-
I based my Adelukan comment on the second half as I didn’t see the first.
-
I know they were playing Man City but Adelakun did very little, seemed to be leaving all the work to others. Although one cross into boss was unmissable, he put it right onto the players feet who missed!
Lund and Garbutt were two who stood out for me, terrific work rate from both.
-
What Adelakun did against Man City is irrelevant, it’s what he does in the league that he should be judged on and his goal return so far when fit has been very good. Pains me that we didn’t sign him and ended up with Gibson.

Blame his agent not Rovers
-
Didn’t he get offered fortunes from America and it didn’t end up coming off? He was waiting for that opportunity.
-
Last January when we signed Adelakun on loan from Lincoln as you can see I thought I had got my wish
CLH will be happy we’ve finally got a long thrower
https://youtu.be/kB0VTR1KD_0?si=hg0OqO1Is-OIssIF
Nice finish here too.
He is out of contract
https://www.weareimps.com/news/2024/january/adelakun-joins-doncaster-on-loan/
I see Hakeem as a more realistic permanent because after listening to the Waters interview he likes to be at home and is Cheshire based it would seem.
Reading on the Imps forum he was playing as a central striker but is more of a winger.
[/i]
Did anyone ever see him take a long throw for us - watching that Tamworth No.4 today with the longest ever throw you will ever see once again reminded me what I was promised when he signed
Funny he still had the long throw a month before he signed for us !!!!
"Match Thread: Lincoln City v Northampton Town
29 Dec 2023 · Breaking at pace with plenty of support. Neat and clever passing and a quality finish. Game over. Plus it came from another pointless Adelukan long throw. Could we have ...."

What I heard , not necessarily fortunes but as life choice you can't blame him for wanting to experience something new

I’m not blaming anybody. Just saying I’d have loved us to have signed him.

SO HERE WE ARE
I simply cannot believe how badly Salford took a mere 8-0 defeat - as I keep saying little Donny Rovers simply ripped the page out of the form book and moved on after Crewe - I actually think they have an excellent chance of getting promoted - I can see a replay of this Notts County match at Wembley
after that demoraling for County fluke double deflection gift on half time - in the second half they looked some force -- shame they went awol for so many games after the 8-0 - even when they hit form they managed to lose at home to Accrington recently to bust accumulator bets
https://www.skysports.com/football/video/19508/13346848/notts-county-1-3-salford-city-league-two-highlights
oh by the way Salford beat County 3-0 at home earlier !!
-
It's not always about the player, it's also about the manager getting the best out of the player. And that's what McCann is great at.
-
That 8-0 at Crewe brings back memories, driving up Balne Moor on the way home in the middle of the night and on comes the old blue light and stop sign.
Good evening sir and would you mind telling me where you have been and going to," To Pollington home in the next village and Crewe to a Football game we lost 8-) and I am not Happy" Thank you sir get your self off you deserve a better day tomorrow, saying it as if he had a lot of sympathy.

As we know Brian all coppers have common sense, sympathy & love Donny Rovers

Well, some of the time probably, most I have associated with have had women trouble at home and take it out on the rest of us, finally calming down in retirement.
-
I know some consider it bad form to post on old threads but I see Haks is lining up for a PFA/trialists team against Port Vale tomorrow

Jordan Hiwula in that squad too.
-
Probably wants to find himself a new agent that lad…
-
There’s a few other 1&2 names there as well
-
Danny Andrews played in a PFA game against Worksop last week along with Hiwula and Sterling. Noted that Brandon Fleming was in the training squad for this
