Big chance for Sbarra saved, and follow up for Gibson saved for corner

Anderson heads corner wide

Definitely on top early against a young Barnsley side

Should be 2-0 up already, sbarra with a sitter.

Cant see us not winning this

Sbarra misses one on one, then puts one of the best corner crosses I’ve seen in a long time to Tom who heads wide. Good play, poor finishing

Thought I'd at last get to see a match in Colombia this weekend. But no. Here in Bogota local side Millionarios are playing their city rivals Santa Fe this weekend. Not a ticket to be had....

We are getting a lot of joy against the Barnsley defence and are on top but seem to be wasting chances

Barnsley now more in the match, neat so far without a cutting edge

Barnsley cross headed out for a corner, defended OK

Sbarra cross put behind for a corner, Anderson header easily saved

Would you believe it good left footed cross and Joe plants it. But the goal shows what we are missing for Joe good crosses our two on Saturday and tonight have come from good crosses from the left.
Gibson not a left sided player Kelly poor but we are winning

I was just about to say our cold blooded killers in front of goal seem to be showing mercy on our young Barnsley counterparts.

Maybe Ironside didn't fancy facing the firing squad at Half Time!

We cannot keep letting teams off the hook, we got away with missing chance after chance at the weekend, (just) but for anyone who cannot see tonight’s game, it could already be a cricket score without exaggeration.

Pretty good until the final shot i would say. Miles better than the young Barnsley team and with 20 changes that shows depth.

Sbarra misses one on one, then puts one of the best corner crosses I’ve seen in a long time to Tom who heads wide. Good play, poor finishing

It was a good driven corner but it was exactly the same as the one at MKDons which Tom headed in for our goal.

Bad referring benefits us - Anderson gives ball away, fouls, advantage not played as Barnsley player nets. Yellow for Anderson

Gibson is very selfish sometimes, should’ve pass there instead of going for goal.

It does seem to be a consistent theme, this season, where we get chance after chance and continue to be anything but ruthless.

I’ll bet GM & Co are doing quite a bit of homework for who we can bring in, come January. Miller would have been handy to have on the bench, tonight!

Out of all the local sides I don’t mind Barnsley, obviously love to beat them but they’re a proper club supported by people from the tarn, unlike Leeds and the Sheffield clubs, who are massive and have worldwide followings.
2-1, here we go!

Anybody else think Kelly has looked brilliant tonight. The way he carries the ball from deep to start counter attacks looks like we could be onto a gem if you keep him playing he'll only get better. Also had plenty of chances and unlucky not to put one away
Title: Re: Tykes v TLOD (EFL Trophy)

Kelly needs to be told to pass the ball.
He is holding on to it for too long, trying to beat every Barnsley player instead of laying it off to team mates.

That score line massively flatters them! I don’t know their team, or if it was mainly youngsters but they ain’t good, against what is by no means our first team. They (Barnsley) did better in the second half, but it allowed more space for us.

Into the next round and more money, great to make so many changes and still win yeah first half was so so, 2nd half was even until we brought on some of the 1st team to wrap the game up, after the 3rd we should have got at least 2 more, hopefully grant and cliff will be happy and we now need to go beat barrow and win another cup game

Yes me too, I've been a big fan of him in the past but seems to be going backwards, done absolutely zero tonight to give McCann a headache. He made a run into the right side of the box early on & then nothing. Reverted back to type, playing in his little 5 yard zone generally passing back & playing us into trouble, one of which a poor pass to Anderson which led to his booking. Really needs to step up his game or he will be on the bench or out of the squad for the season.
