Not a sentiment I’ve ever subscribed to so I thought I’d get it out of the way now, just in case.

It’s essential we win today.
Firstly building a winning mentality and culture in all competitions is a must.
Secondly if I was the owner/s and I’d given a substantial pot of money so that my manager had 2 players for every position and provided funds to bring in loans due to injury, I would expect success in all cup competitions to recoup my investment. Being able to put out a second 11 where any one of them could establish themselves in the first team doesn’t come cheap.
Hopefully the League cup proved lucrative, and in turn with our resources I would be demanding success in the BSM and FA cup.

No, it’s essential we do our absolute best to try and win.. can’t do more than that. The rest is down to luck and to a great extent the performance of the opposition..

Is this the strongest bench we've ever had as a Tier 4 side?

I agree and I accept IDM’s qualification which I’m sure is implicit in RIS’s opening sentence.
The opportunity to field teams in the FA and BSM cup ties should suit McCann in his team development which is only now beginning to show progress. Getting the right blend and enabling those who are not regular league starters to do so in the cup matches provides a less pressured environment to show what they can do.
It would be interesting to know how the quality of the average substitute’s performance compares with the same player’s contribution when allowed a full 90 minutes to perform. I suspect that only some are natural “impact subs” and that a significant proportion underperform due to the anxiety of trying to impress.

Has to be our strongest 9 man bench - the depth is remarkable
-
Poxy thread title. Logged on and thought I'd missed that it was an early kick off and that we'd lost
-
Good job the players and staff don’t think like this

I can't remember Rovers ever having this sort of strength in depth, even when we were in the Championship.

But you do realise that it is now Rovers superstition and a failure to start the thread and the Rovers get beat, the defeat will solely yours and not what we play like.

Some of us appreciate the irony, but I fear you may overestimate the capacity a sizeable majority to absorb your sense of humour.

You know what my friend, I shall take that as a compliment (whether intended or not) & exit left.
